Bruce’s wife Emma, ex-wife Demi, and daughters Rumer, Scout, Tallulah, Mabel and Evelyn released a statement through the Association for Frontotemporal Degeneration on Feb. 16.
“Since we announced Bruce’s diagnosis of aphasia in spring 2022, Bruce’s condition has progressed and we now have a more specific diagnosis: frontotemporal dementia (known as FTD). Unfortunately, challenges with communication are just one symptom of the disease Bruce faces. While this is painful, it is a relief to finally have a clear diagnosis,” the statement read.
“FTD is a cruel disease that many of us have never heard of and can strike anyone. For people under 60, FTD is the most common form of dementia, and because getting the diagnosis can take years, FTD is likely much more prevalent than we know,” the statement continued. “Today there are no treatments for the disease, a reality that we hope can change in the years ahead. As Bruce’s condition advances, we hope that any media attention can be focused on shining a light on this disease that needs far more awareness and research.”
“We know in our hearts that – if he could today — he would want to respond by bringing global attention and a connectedness with those who are also dealing with this debilitating disease and how it impacts so many individuals and their families,”

Prayers.
So very sad.
I read such an article. It definitely seemed they were not handling him with directors, properly.
He has been a great person to watch, over the years.
There’s not much that can be done to mitigate his condition, unfortunately.
Just had to put hamburger helper on the table and gas in the truck, I guess.
Yeah….they could’ve just had him run for Senator. 🙃
The production companies were willing to pay the contract amount. Why not attack them, too?
One of my fraternity brothers had this. He went into a facility when he was in his 40’s. Awful.
Bruce Willis net worth in 2020 was $250,000,000.00
The production companies is just there to make money. Is that why Bruce’s family is there? To make money? Guess so.
I thought this was known already.
There were a bunch of his movies released on Amazon prime. The last one I saw he did NOT look or sound healthy at all. I cringed watching it because it was obvious something was wrong.
I hope someone with a platform comes out and condemns his “family” for their greed and lack of looking out for him.
frontotemporal dementia
Looked at the Wikipedia (YMMV) article on it. Does not sound good.
I’ve known two people well with early onset dementia.
One of life’s cruelest turns.
(And no, Die Hard isn't a Christmas movie.)Blasphemy
We've discussed this before on FR. It's a Hannukah movie.
Sad news. Prayers for him and his family.
I worked with someone who had it. It was pretty noticable by the time he retired at 55. His mind had been deteriorating for at least 10 years and just couldn’t do the job anymore. He passed when he was 65. He was a very bright chemical engineer in his younger days.
I didn’t know that....
I had a friend who died of that this past summer. His wife felt the anesthesia they pumped into him when they replaced his hip was the biggest catalyst
I have a friend that has early onset dementia. Been officially diagnosed. He is in his early 50’s. I go see him often to put eyeballs on him.
“Sick how his family pimped him out for a string of shitty films...”
As opposed to every other past-his-prime action star, who pimp themselves out for a string of sh***y films.
remember Bruce by watching die hard or any of the projects he did in the 1990s.
Sorry you don’t see the difference.
The guy is only 67 years old. Barely past the age of full social security…
