GUNS DON'T KILL PEOPLE, MRI MACHINES DO.....................
To: Red Badger
“The 40-year-old lawyer and vocal supporter of gun ownership is reported to have retained the weapon in spite of verbal and written requests to remove all metal objects prior to accompanying his mother into the scanning room.”
Not a freak accident. A stupid accident. Some people just won’t follow instructions.
To: Red Badger
Still not the gun’s fault. What a tragedy for the mother and his other loved ones. Perhaps a metal detector needs to be installed to add an extra layer of safety.

My stepdaughter is a physician. She has said those machines will suck a handgun out of a holster.

Though short, this list of dangerous MRI episodes could grow as gun ownership rises in the US, with the possibility of more injuries or even deaths. Several hundred people die each year in the US following the unintentional use of a firearm. I like how they tie this death in Brazil to a message of "better ban guns in the USA". They never stop.

"remove all metal objects"
That includes revolvers, daggers, lead pipes, candlesticks, and wrenches. A rope is the only murder weapon allowed during an MRI.
To: Red Badger
“in 2013, an on-duty officer’s handgun was pulled from his hand while investigating a late-night report of a burglary at an Illinois MRI clinic, with the firearm remaining stuck to the machine”
That’s a perfect scene for an action-comedy!

I will never get another MRI again as long as I am alive, the first and only one I had over 4 years ago did this, it is called VTE or a Thrombotic Event. Basically I had some sort of Stroke and Blood Clot when I got the MRI. But when I did it my back was jacked and I couldn't hardly walk. Woke up the next morning to this and my back problem was cured overnight, I have had no problems as a result, except my legs still look funny.

It would have been perfectly OK. If this guy had a boot knife that sliced him all the way up his pant leg and he bled to death..
But... Gunz is bad.. So, guns.
Remove ALL metal.. pretty straight forward there.

Hey, take what you can get. What would you rather have? Constant pain and beautiful legs or no pain and some weird bruises?
To: eyeamok
Good heavens that looks like something from a Zombie movie!.............
I’ve had several MRIs but never anything like this!..................

He’s now a former idiot. Though I have no clue how the firing process could happen. And what kind of carrying equipment keeps the gun pointed at the wearer? Doesn’t sound very conceal-ly.
I bet he was worried about everyone freaking out, and about securing the weapon while he was away from it.

Forgot to mention, did the machine disengage the safety too or was he even dumber than I thought? Ah, the mysteries compound.

I don’t believe this story.
You are warned over and over not to enter with metal. How it WILL kill you, if you do. And he thinks “Ok it probably does not mean a metal handgun I have hidden”
You don’t go in one wearing clothes. Wear was hi hiding the gun? up his ass?
It will suck a metal object right through your skin.
What clothes was he wearing that the operator could not see a gun?

I knew an MRI tech who failed to control the environment before he turned on the scanner. One of those metallic office chairs got sucked into the machine and destroyed it.
I never heard what he ended up doing for a living, but he ain't in the MRI business anymore. Nobody got hurt.

Few years ago one sucked an oxygen tank across the room and into a patients head.
