LAS VEGAS, Nev. (FOX5) - The Oscar Mayer Wienermobile had to make a pit stop on Friday after thieves targeted the iconic vehicle.
The catalytic converter on the 27-foot-long hot dog on wheels was stolen, according to Joseph Rodriguez with Penske Trucks.
According to Rodriguez, his team at Penske helped give the vehicle a temporary repair so it could get back on the road.
Rodriguez said staff at Penske near West Hacienda Avenue and South Decatur Boulevard sealed up where the catalytic converter had been cut.
The iconic vehicle was back on the road and able to make it to its first stop of the weekend.

I found it especially interesting that so many of the ‘phreaks’ were blind people.
In central Florida thieves are stealing catalytic converters in broad daylight.
Paul Ryan is extremely sad that his ride was vandalized.
I used Dremel tool and engraved VIN number on my cat. Slapped some red, heat-resistant paint on and in most cases thieves won’t bother it.
Should have kept the original going, it looked better and had no CAT to steal.
I wonder how well those ‘shields’ you can install actually work.
This stuff is happening all over in my area.
One of the six Wienermobiles showed up at a neighborhood event a few miles from my house last year. I went home and got my wife, but it was gone when we returned.
I think one crashed a while back.
A friend and I were discussing COPS once while flying to a business meeting. I told him the best episodes contained a guy with a mullet, wearing a wife beater, actually beating his wife in Las Vegas.
In the hotel room, I turned on the TV and COPS was on, featuring a guy with a mullet, wearing a wife beater T-Shirt, accused of beating his wife. As the camera pulled back, I saw the Las Vegas police car.
There have been several wrecks over the years.

Is nothing sacred anymore!
They cut the little wiener off the big wiener.
Friend just put one on his F150. Sits high so easy to get under. With the price of the shield and installation $600.
I was thinking they may at least slow the thieves down...
