Tucker nails it: Apocalyptic climate doom is the religion of urban atheists and now has become the official state religion

This is must-see TV. If you didn't watch it last night, give yourself a treat and watch it today.

Friday night's opening monologue on Tucker Carlson Tonight was a further demonstration of why Mr. Carlson is the most important political commentator in the United States. He takes on and explains political issues in ways that clarify what is really going on and uses his considerable dramatic skills to engage and keep a mass audience focused on what can be rather abstract issues.

This is not to denigrate other brilliant conservatives such as Victor Davis Hanson — who Tucker recently acknowledged "without shame" is smarter than he is — but rather to acknowledge the accessibility and reach that his perch as the top-rated cable news program host gives him.

Tucker began his monologue by grounding it an observation made a couple of decades ago by the late Michael Crichton, an absolutely brilliant original thinker who became a bestselling author, movie producer, and director: that apocalyptic climate doom had become the religion of the urban atheist class, which now rules politics and which has made it into our state religion.

This is must-see TV. If you didn't watch it last night, give yourself a treat and watch it today.

“Nothing new here. ‘Nature’ is,(has LONG BEEN) the religion of the Godless.”

No problem for them; they’ve invented their own goddess, Gaia.

I was a member of that organization until I moved to Knoxville in 1987 and started attending chapter meetings where the primary activity discussed was how to stop various business developments and promote various forms of socialism. Then I dropped my membership. Sad, too, because the Sierra Club sponsored al lot of great outdoor and wilderness trips.

There is nothing wrong with wanting to protect nature. But they are radical extremists who do not believe in any “multi-use”compromise at all. Zero, they want to wipe the human species off the planet. But the true reason it exists is as a vehicle to usher in government power and communism, and launder money as they do it. Observations that display this fact is that most of what they push to have forced on people actually do more harm to the environment than help it. The true cause and effect is self explanatory once one digs into the true results of their agenda.

Atheists can easily get caught up in a bizarre paradox.

Religion provides morality, or really it defines morality as “virtues”. It also defines amorality and anti-morality as sins, in particular “the seven deadly sins”.

So it is a simple progression from “denying God and religion” to denying the religious definition of morality and “virtues”. But this leaves a vacuum.

So as testament to their rejection, they try to embrace the *opposite* of virtues, sins.

1) Pride. The capital sin, in which people try to *replace* God and usurp His power. The idea that people can control the weather, the “environment”. In truth they tell themselves that they control, and even “create” reality itself.

2) Greed. The bottomless sin that can never be sated.

3) Lust. The desire to corrupt and demean the purity of others.

4) Gluttony. Luxury only being enjoyable when it can gaze on the starvation of others.

5) Wrath. The idea of improving your life by harming others.

6) Envy. The misery of not having what some others have.

7) Sloth. The desire that all you crave should be given to you without any labor or effort on your part.

These seven deadly sins have become the sacraments of the Democrat party. Democrats can now be seen as belonging to one or more “sin blocs”, since there is some overlap.

But it’s all a natural outgrowth of atheism.

Yep, I think that pretty much sums it up.

FWIW ...

1) Pride: A natural sense of self.

2) Greed: Exaltation of self.

3) Lust: An abandonment of self.

4) Gluttony: An impulse to self destruction.

5) Wrath: Stretched beyond limits.

6) Envy: Unknown to me.

7) Sloth: A false heaven.

...

Atheist ... “A theist” ... Ha Ha ...

“...There is nothing Godless about loving nature...”

True, but NOT if you put ‘nature in the PLACE of God, or above God.

If you listen to the enviro-idiots when they get into their hysterical rant ... hectoring everyone about the primacy of ‘nature’ over ALL - they sound like circus barkers or like pseudo TV ministers trying to scare people into sending in their dollars, so they can be saved...no difference
