Audubon society members mourned the loss of one of the endangered polar albatrosses shot down by the military for some unknown reason.
They knew about it over 24 hours ago. Biden slept on the decision to shoot it down. They did not immediately come forward in the press briefing this afternoon. It took a reporter’s question for them to admit there was an object. Knowing that the object was over US airspace for 24 hours narrows down what the object really is. It can’t be a fixed wing aircraft or helicopter without refueling, thus it is another balloon or an alien spacecraft (hehe).

The administration seems to be very sensitized to any mention of the word ‘balloon’. Just saying.

Well if it was a balloon, in theory you can target that propulsion source without hurting the payload - except the fall is the real danger then. Which many seem to forget, even for that thing last week. It’s always good to see what the enemy has been trying, rather than just completely destroying.
