I mean, that’s a wild one, jumping into a gators habitat to take him on, but those fury little friends are definitely worth it.
Wilbanks managed to get a hold of the gator, drag him to shore, pry his jaws open, and get poor Gunner to safety. You can hear Gunner whimpering in the video, and Wilbanks groaning as he struggles with the gator. It looks like a scene from a movie, but for the most part, everybody was uninjured.

That was a little gator and a small dog. When I was in high school, growing up in Florida and living on a lake, I caught alligators more than twice that size (and more than four times that weight) with my bare hands. I never smoked cigars though.

You grab them by the end of the mouth by the nose. You get them when the mouth is shut because they don’t have very strong muscles to open their mouth, just very strong muscles to close their mouth. Then you have to stay away from the claws and the tail.
