A Jewel

A lady walks into Tiffany's. She looks around, spots a beautiful Diamond bracelet and walks over to inspect it.

As she bends over to more closely inspect it, she farts. Very embarrassed she looks around nervously to see if anyone noticed her little whoops and prays that a salesperson was not anywhere near. As she turns around her worst nightmare materializes in the form of a salesman standing right behind her.

Good looking as well as "cool as a cucumber" he displays all of what you would expect of a professional in a store like Tiffany's. He politely greets the lady with "Good day, Madam. How may we help you today???"

Blushing and uncomfortable but still hopeful the salesman missed her "incident", she asks "Sir, what is the price of the lovely bracelet?"

He answers "Madam, if you farted just looking at it, you're going to sh**t when I tell you the price!"

A terrible salesman.

A good one, or someone simply polite, would have ignored the fart...

But that would spoil the joke.

A true lady at Tiffany's never asks the price.

She has her husband's credit cards.

A better one would have taken credit and excused himself.

Less and less true now. The joke however, is timeless.

Not dialog from Breakfast at Tiffany’s? Audrey Hepburn didn’t pass gas. Would have been funny, though.

I have a joke book that I stole from our high school library back in 1964 and that joke is in it.

I once asked for a price of some handbag in one of the highly overpriced boutiques.
I was told that, if I need to ask for the price, it is too expensive for me!
I was kind of offended. Obviously I have not bought that crap!

I’ve been the in the you can’t afford it store before. I insist on the price, noting the 10% commission they would lose was worth passing on the item.
