Principal Wicker: [with a smug smile] She’s next, Bundy! Haha!
Al: Come on, Wicker! You’re not gonna make my daughter go through this, are you? Think back to when you were younger. Roaming the range with the rest of the buffalo. Scratching yourself up against a tree. Trembling to the sound of the iron horse.
Principal Wicker: She dances or she’s expelled!
Al: [to Peggy] No charming her, Peg.
I never saw that explained until the big anniversary show years later. Al was supposed to go to college on a football scholarship, until he got his cheerleader girlfriend (Peg) pregnant. With that, they had to get married, and his part-time job selling shoes became his full-time dead-end career.
So it wasn’t that they were “repulsed” by each other (at times they clearly weren’t)...it’s that they were constantly being reminded of how they had screwed up their lives in one foolish moment years ago.
Hysterical, esp. starting at about 2 minutes
The “iron horse” line (imo) is one of the funniest lines Al ever delivered. And he delivered more than can be counted.
She was quite something.
LOL!!! I love the audience reaction.
That was and is a wonderful movie
“She was quite something.”
She -is-one of the hardest luck actresses in Hollywood. I really feel bad for her with her health problems.
>‘What’cha thinking Al?’
>‘If I wanted you to know what I was thinking, I’d be talking and not thinking’.
Peg instructing Kelly:
“Talking is when your lips move and sounds come out.
Thinking is when your lips move but no sound comes out.”
Bkmk
“Dishes are done, man!”
Anyway, if y'all want to have some fun, look up "Al Bundy's Greatest Insults" on YouTube.
At the nudie bar...
Where the music stinks and they water the drinks. The nudie bar.
Where the girlies dance in their underpants. The nudie bar.
Where you see their butt and their trap stays shut. The nudie bar.
Where you can look at a thigh and blacken an eye, at the Nudie Bar.
Where the beer gives you gas but the Bundys kick ass... at the Nudie Bar.
Always enjoy watching the scene when she enters the Bundy front door and then directly walks into the end of the sofa.
Such grace!
So good, I’m watching it again today.
