THIS PARTICULAR STORY NEEDS LEGS AND NEEDS TO WALK.

It isn’t just Harvard.
At the link:

“DR. MOHAMED FAYED, A SENIOR ANESTHETIST AT DETROIT’S HENRY FORD HEALTH, made the suggestion during the American Society of Anesthesiologists’ annual conference last Friday in Orlando, Florida. “Global warming is affecting our daily life more and more, and the reduction of greenhouse gas emissions has become crucial,” he said. Dr. Fayed added, “No matter how small each effect is, it will add up. As anesthesiologists, we can contribute significantly to this cause by making little changes in our daily practice — such as lowering the flow of anesthetic gas — without affecting patient care.”

[Climate Depot Note: THE AMERICAN SOCIETY OF ANESTHESIOLOGISTS’ WEBSITE APPEARS TO HAVE PULLED THE ARTICLE. But it is available here.]

[LInk to the article is at the above link posted by combat_boots]

Cowards. They are only naming a student waxing eloquent and stupidly about how wonderful it will be for Harvard med to incorporate “climate change” into the curriculum. They do not cite the ones in charge of making the changes. THOSE are the people who need to become famous.

My concern is that even though they are saying that there is no lessening of patient care, do you think that climate religion zealots will see that as the mission or patient care as the mission? I suspect religion in too many cases would win out....and there would be compromise of patient care.

Another piece of info at combat_boot’s link is the factoid that if one uses cannabis to manage pain, and if they are to have surgery, it apparently requires MORE anesthesia to overcome the pain of surgery than if the person was not using cannabis.

Cannabis, as many know, is used by a lot of people with cancer for patient care. If they are to have surgery, do you think the person trained to be stingy with anesthesiology for the climate would take that into account and give appropriate amounts? or just let the poor fart with cancer suffer a little more?

I can praise God that I have not had cancer pain, but I know some who have. ANYONE who would withhold appropriate amounts of anesthesia and perhaps even pain management from such people for dumb reasons such as “climate change” need to have some better education on pain and its implications.

I don’t have time to do a deep dive on Harvard Med, but the ones in charge of the Anesthesia Dept need to become famous if they are truly in favor of this.
