Bridget Fonda hit headlines on Wednesday after she was photographed out in public for the first time in more than a decade.

The 58-year-old former actress — who quit Hollywood in 2002 and hasn’t walked a red carpet since 2010 — looked unrecognizable as she ran errands in Los Angeles.

(snip)

Fonda has proven that even the most glamorous stars change over the years, and she joins a growing number of former pinups who are defiantly owning their age and prioritizing personal comfort over public expectations.

Other ’80s and ’90s heartthrobs, however, have taken a different route — sparking speculation they’ve received cosmetic enhancements in a bid to fend off the aging process.

Here, the hottest stars of yesteryear and how they look now.

Susanna Hoffs of The Bangles still looks great.

I was happy he was in the new Maverick movie, but it was still sad to see his decline.

He’ll always be “Nick Rivers” to me, though from “Top Secret!”

I takes people willing to organize a class reunion. I attended 1-11 at a school that had 54 in the senior class. The school I spent my 12th year at had 52.

The first school has always considered me a grad with them (landlord died, forcing my family to move to another farm in the neighboring school district).

The first school has a couple of women that love planning the reunions; there’s been one every 5 years (50th last year). I’ve only missed 3.

The second school managed a 10 and a 25 as far as I know (I attended the 10, but since I only went there my last year I felt like a stranger).

It is interesting to see big changes in appearance. Except for a gray head of thinning hair I’m about the same.

The sad part is the deceased number, 1/4 are gone so far.

“ These pictures don’t show natural aging - they show excessive weight gain due to the Food Pyramid”

Exactly - these people just live the good life and let themselves go. Ancient people all over (like my parents) that look great because they took care of themselves

The ones who kept their hair long actually look quite nice for the most part. The ones who cut their hair short like Kelly McGillis look dumpy and mostly awful. Sorry to the ladies out there with shorter hair who are offended by that statement. I just find short hair on women very unflattering in general.

On the other hand, Lara Flynn Boyle and Kathleen Turner still look rather elegant and feminine with their longer locks.

Pictured below is Linda Ronstadt, the fantasy woman of my adolescence years (never mind her politics). How she looked in her heyday and how she looks today with that awful bowl cut. I chose this particular younger photo of Linda because this is almost exactly what my wife looked like when I first met her. She had the exact same hairstyle as well.

I argue with her (my wife), all the time over this one as she wants to also cut it short now that she's in her 60s. I pretty much beg her to keep it at least shoulder length. I would hate for her to look like the older Linda.

She claims that as a man, I have it made, as I can keep short hair all the time. So I sort of threw down the gauntlet and have decided to grow my own hair long. If I get my hair long, she will have to agree to not cut her hair short as she will not tolerate me having longer hair than her. So looks like in another year or so, I'll be looking somewhat like Mickey Rourke in the photo from the article (though I'm actually aiming for Brad Pitt).

Oh well, the things you do for love.

My graduating class had 208 students. I counted it once way back then, and have always remembered that number. There have been reunions every 5 or so years, and lately they’ve been combined with other classes. There are quite a few classmates still in the area, and they are usually the ones who do most of the organizing. I’m sure it’s quite a thankless task.

We went to my 10th reunion, and my husband’s 25th. Seems good enough to me.

I keep telling Beau that is my plan for Old Age. At 70 I’ll suffer a mild heart problem, then knuckle down and start running marathons. ;)

Our kids figured that we had one foot in the grave when CoVid hit, and it really made me mad for them to think of us like that. I think of us as young, so we took the opportunity to get into shape by walking and hiking. Not that we were in bad shape, but we thought it was important to improve our fitness so they didn’t worry so much.

It’s worked! Now when we visit them, we can keep up with their hiking step for step (daughter is an AVID hiker). I’m not much of a runner, but I can walk just about anywhere. All the work outdoors helps, too, and I know you do plenty of that.

I haven’t had short hair in years, but I hated it. It’s been just below my shoulders for years, but a few months ago, I decided I wanted to try growing it even longer. I agree with you that longer hair can help a woman look a bit younger. Can you imagine Linda R if she had kept her hair long? She was a beauty!

I think Selena Gomez is Linda’s doppelganger.

All the estimates say he is now worth $120M, but I read that his fortune peaked at $180M. A $60M decline is a lot, but not fatal in his case. You would have to be brain dead to blow through $180M.

I have no sympathy for people like Nick Cage and Johnny Depp who blow through tremendous fortunes.
