Heart attacks on the rise among young adults, but many are unaware of risk

Dave Conway had a heart attack in 2018. He was only 30.

The Clintonville, Ohio, resident had been experiencing fatigue and shortness of breath, finally going to the emergency room with what he thought was pneumonia. Instead, he learned he'd had a "widowmaker" heart attack and a 100% blockage in a major artery.

"I thought people who had heart attacks or heart disease were older people who drink and smoke a lot and weigh much more than I did," Conway said.

"Recovery has been really tough, but I'm willing to do whatever my doctors tell me is needed to keep my heart safe in the future," he said in an Ohio State University news release.

Stories like Conway's are becoming more common, with studies showing heart attacks and stroke are on the rise among Americans younger than 40.

Certain healthy habits can help prevent heart problems -- but getting younger adults to accept their risks remains an obstacle.

"It is alarming that younger people don't feel that they're at risk for heart disease, but it's not surprising," said Dr. Laxmi Mehta, director of preventative cardiology and women's cardiovascular health at the Ohio State Wexner Medical Center.

"Most young people think heart disease only happens in old people, but that's not the case," Mehta said in the release.

The medical center surveyed 2,000 Americans, finding that nearly half of those under age 45 believed they were not at risk for heart disease.

Conway himself waited days after symptoms to start seeking treatment, which is not uncommon. The survey found about 32% of Americans aren't confident they would know if they were having a heart attack.

My FRiend, the last thing I am is scared; rather, throughout the Fauci Flu debacle I have been, and continue to this day to be rational.

To be clear: I have at no time intimated that you said the "vaccines" are 100% safe. I only pointed out that, using your numbers, a significant number of people have suffered harm from the "vaccines". From this massive amount of data over time culled from reputable sources, I have concluded that if I wanted to catch the Fauci Flu, spread the Fauci Flu and get sick with the Fauci Flu I can do so just as easily (arguably even more easily) if I expose myself to the well-documented risks associated with the "vaccines" as I can by not exposing myself to the risks inherent with the "vaccines". As a rational person I chose, of course, to avoid compounding the risk to my excellent health and avoided the "vaccines".

My point thoughout our brief debate has not changed; that point being that you are wrong in suggesting that people who have not been "vaxxed" must have no opinion on the dangers of the "vaccines". That's it. There is nothing more to it. Not being "vaxxed" is not just cause for declaring that rational people should not voice their concerns, even for those such as yourself who wrongly dismiss such rational analysis as -- what was it? -- "fear porn".

I am, of course, pleased to hear that although the "vaccine" did not protect you from catching and getting sick from the Fauci Flu (and thus likely spreading it to others), that your natural immune system remained undamaged enough to cause your fast -- and hopefully complete -- recovery.

But make no mistake: I have no reason to fear the "vaccines" although I am concerned for the good long-term health of my many family members and friends who were forced by politicians, unelected bureaucrats and frightened-nearly-out-of-their-minds bosses and, in the case of my son, was forced to expose himself to the potentially lethal dangers of the "vaccines" in order to receive basic and necessary medical care at the VA during the lengthy period when personal decision making was not "VOLUNTARY".

Oh, and one other thing, entropy12: Because I live by the credo that the purpose of life is not to avoid death (which causes a person to live in fear), but it is to live one's life, until recently my FR tagline over the past three years has read:
I follow the five "UNs": UNtested; UNmasked; UNvaxxed; UNbullied and UNafraid.

In conclusion, I offer a quote made in 1818 by David Ricardo, an American economist and a master of deductive reasoning:
"I wish that I may never think the smiles of the great and powerful a sufficient inducement to turn aside from the straight path of honesty and the convictions of my own mind."

Rationality is a beautiful thing, my FRiend. Be well & Cheers!

The current variant of covid seems milder than initial version. I am not planning on more jabs unless a new more potent variant arrives.

The initial covid variant killed a lot of Americans with comorbidities, and in my opinion the vaccine was a safer alternative. Even the new milder covid variant has potential to damage vital organs permanently.

Best to avoid catching infection, but that is difficult with any airborne virus.

Lastly, the vaccines caused zero adverse effects in my immediate family of 7 people ranging in age from 29-82. Although I recovered very quickly in 42 hours after onset of covid symptoms and testing positive, it took almost 3 months to get my lungs and heart back to normal.

If I can find a stock with 99.7% probability of making profit, I will sell the farm and the house and buy it.
