“Stupid Girl” by The Rolling Stones Composers: Mick Jagger and Keith Richards

Almost 57 years ago! Thanks for making me feel old today...
Back when the Stones were truly great.
Within the last year or so I’ve learned of the deaths of three women I’ve truly loved over 50+ years. That makes a fella feel old!
one of my favorites ... along with “Under Assistant West Coast Promo Man”, “Under MY Thumb”, “Get Off My Cloud”, “Spider to the Fly” ... man it seems like there were hundreds ...
That song was mean. Under My Thumb was payback, always good.
The early Stones were the best. Bluesy, raw, they were more of a garage rock band than the polished corporate rock of later years.
Does a Rolling Stone never gather any moss or just that just apply to Keith Richards?
But how about "your favorite Stones album"?
(Sticky Fingers, with Goats Head Soup a distant second.)
I also prefer the Garbage version. Musically it makes the Stones version sound like bubblegum pop.

Sadly, it’s music video was ‘overdone’, so this is just the audio.
This being said, their ‘James Bond MV’, “The World Is Not Enough”, is simply amazing. A mini movie.
Same here. Never heard the other one or even knew it existed. Garbage was one of my favorite 90s bands.
Both songs are good in my opinion.
Beggar’s Banquet
**Bluesy, raw,**
Yep, Mick sang like a black guy, and the rest is history. He had to do something, the guy had nothing going for him to get a pretty girl: short, skinny, homely face with a huge mouth. So he figured out how to get noticed: be a radically different white guy singer. (I’m basically quoting my wife from 45 yrs ago, but my thoughts as well).
I remember a girl on the school bus (1967?) with a teen magazine loaded with stories and pics of r&r bands. One story was a ranking of bands according to looks: the Stones were voted ugliest, lol. Being a farm kid, where manly men did all sorts of manly things, seeing these weirdos on tv and in those magazines was so alien to me.
Thanks to “Once Upon A Time in Hollywood” I discovered “Out of Time”, I note the Stones also added it to their set list on their latest tour.
"Even black people go, 'He got some big-ass lips!'" - Eddie Murphy
Yup,up to Sticky Fingers they were truly incredible. After that they did several good things but no more than a handful...IMO. Many years ago Letterman had a Top Ten List called “Top Ten names for the Stones’ latest tour”. One of them was “Hey,You,Get Off Of My Barcalounger”. That sums it up for me. I would have killed to see them in ‘65....I wouldn’t cross the street to see them today.
The Beatles broke up at the right time, to keep their legacy intact.
I first heard “Gimme Shelter” at the PX at Fort Knox during BCT in December of ‘69. Hearing Sgt King shout at us every 10 seconds that we’re heading to Vietnam and then hearing that song was one of the spookiest experiences in my life. Whenever I hear it I’m right back in that place filled with depressed recruits drinking 3.2 beer and smoking 25 cent a pack cigarettes.
