They’re not, and neither am I, which is really disappointing....

Eberhard Weber, too. He played on Pat’s “Watercolors” record.

I agree with Davie504 (YouTuber).

Paul McCartney? Are you *kidding me* ?

And where is Leland Sklar, who played with *everybody* in the 70s and 80s?

Is Charles Berthoud on there? He’s impressive on YouTube. But that’s the only place I’ve ever heard him. So far, a lot of technique in search of songs or a band.

RE: Tal Wilkenfeld

Good to know another person appreciates her work.

When she came to Jeff Beck’s front door he thought she looked so young that she must have been sent there as one of his band member’s attempts to impress her but quickly learned she was a musical prodigy.

Indisputably Leo Lyons.

I like your sentiment about all their styles being too different.

But that is not the stuff of juvenile internet musical flamewars, either.

My overall favorite bassist is Lee Sklar.

Being from Southern Ca. imagine you’ve heard of or even met him.

Really a good point.

Oakley was doing fusion bass when no one had any idea what that was.

Paul McCartney, Dave Ellefson.
Both fun to play.

At least Tony Levin, Victor Wooten and Jaco were on the list.

I’m just disappointed that my guy Joel Quarrington isn’t here.

I know he tunes in fifths but it works.

I saw him with Yes / Steve Howe about 5-6 years ago, within a year or so of his death. Great show, at the Arts Center in Atlanta. IIRC they played Close to the Edge and Fragile straight through, then several other songs as an encore. Really glad I made that show.
