After listening to the 911 call and watching the security video and the body cam, I'm inclined to think Pelosi is possibly innocent in this.
A scenario:
I think he may have been sitting in his underwear in another part of the house with a drink. Or he was getting undressed for bed. He heard glass breaking and went to investigate. He finds DePape who wants see Nancy.
In the 911 call Pelosi is trying to hint he is in trouble without upsetting DePape who is listening to the call. The idiot operator is not picking up on it and tries to get off the phone but Pelosi stops her and hints more strongly that he doesn't know the guy and finally she asks his name. She sends officers.
When the door opens Pelosi is standing there in a button-up shirt and boxer-briefs and a drink, one hand on the hammer DePape has. DePape is fully dressed in shorts, shirt and tennis shoes. Pelosi greets the officers and they ask if all is OK. DePape answers that there is no problem.
Officers see the hammer and order him to drop it. He says; "Uh, no". Then he tries to gain control of the hammer and Pelosi resists. Pelosi says; "Hey! Hey, hey, hey" just before DePape pulls it free and goes for Pelosi.
I believed the worst, as most here do, till the videos and 911 call. What I don't understand, if all this is true, is why they resisted releasing the videos and 911 call.
Working and have not seen video. Did it clear up if Pelosi opened the door for cops?
The problem is not necessarily with your narrative (which is certainly possible) but what you did not talk about....
Security.
This article should help explain why they did not want to talk about the lapses in security:

Some security folks did not do their job—that is why Paul mentioned the Capitol Police in his 911 call—where were they?
There is no way anyone should be able to smash glass at the Speaker’s home without a mob of security attacking them—long before any entry was possible.
You must have been watching Roberts and Smith on FOX at 1. That’s exactly the way they dissected and reported what they saw on the video. Pelosi wasn’t hinting about ANYTHING....The dispatcher wasn’t missing any hints or signals. She was no doubt wondering WHY if there is someone in your house you don’t know and you have called 911, why the caller was appearing so calm. John Roberts even said that the address would have been apparent to 911. I don’t know about cell phones but I know my home phone has a connection for 911 to pick up on the address. It’s my guess that the dispatcher believed the caller to be intoxicated!!
Possibly getting ready for bed? With a drink in his hand?
“I think he may have been sitting in his underwear in another part of the house with a drink.”
*************
Even if he was, if an intruder breaks into your home in the wee hours of the morning and may be brandishing a weapon, you’re fearing for your safety (if not your life) and you’re going to want both hands free to defend yourself in whatever way you can. You’re also going to want to escape the house ASAP to get away from the threat, and presumably without drink in hand.
As an aside, it would be interesting to know Paul’s whereabouts earlier that evening. Still lots of missing details.
Another possibility is that he was trying to reason with an obviously deranged individual and managed to convince him to let him ‘fix a drink’ while they chatted. In the meantime, he was able to call 911 and kept humoring him until the cops arrived. When he opened the door, he grabbed the hammer as well, perhaps thinking that he could prevent him from striking him with the hammer. NOT enough evidence to relly come to anyu definitive conclusions, in my opinion.
Law enforcement is loathe to release information that reflects poorly on them. The Capital police were clearly derelict in not noticing trouble until the flashing lights of the cops sent by the 911 dispatcher. And then, people would ask how come they didn't recognize the address (good question, btw), and how an attack took place after they arrived on scene.
And the Defense lawyer fought it because of tainting the jury pool.
