I wonder why they decided to release the video at 5pm on a Friday?
Seems like a perfect time to start a riot. Dusk, weekend.
9 am on Monday seems smarter. People who might join the riot decide staying at work is better and some of the anger will wear off by the end of the day.
Buckle up.
Also, are they going to release the entire, complete video beginning with the traffic stop, or just the salacious parts?

Friday afternoon is where all stories are buried. They are releasing the Paul Pelosi video today too.
5pm will go down as one of the dumbest decisions in this issue. After a week of hype that this is the worst thing ever, you wait until it’s dark out to release the tape.
I’m thinking 5 pm on Friday is as good a time as possible - allows sane people to clear out before the rioting starts. A Monday morning release could trap a lot of 9-5 workers in the mess at evening rush.

The stock markets close at 4pm ET. Gotta give time for TPTB to make their trades.
Rush hour. Good time to catch folks in their cars.
No. The news cycle slumbers over the weekend. That’s why the Clinton’s love to time their scandals for late Friday. It’ll get less eyeballs as people get on with their weekend, and by Monday be old news. At least they’re hoping.

Because “they” will have had all day (since “they” don’t work) to get all liquored up and will need refills by 5:00. (and TVs by midnight).
Friday night news dump - have to release it, hope the impact gets reduced by events of the following weekend, fewer people paying attention to the news on Friday night anyway, etc.,etc.
