JSO: Two men shot in strip mall in Regency area

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office is investigating after two men were shot in a strip mall in Regency on Thursday.

According to detectives, at around 1:05 a.m., officers responded to the area due reports of gunfire, but they were unable to locate the scene, victims or witnesses. However, a short time later, officers were alerted that two men in their early 20s arrived at a local hospital with gunshot wounds to their left side and hip.

I lived in the Regency/ Arlington area as a teen and it was nice back then.

After a democrat mayor decided to remove the tolls on all the bridges in the early 80s it went to hell and has been a shithole ever since.

Amazing that a 50 cent toll could keep the bad element on the west side of the St. Johns river.

I rememeber when museums and libraries were free to everyone back in the 1960s and early 1970s. Vagrancy laws kept the bums out.
Then the vagrancy laws were removed. The museums immediately started charging a small fee which kept the bums out, but the city libraries remained free but now were full of winos taking up all the seats and sleeping in the air conditioned hot summers and cold winters.

One library had to close a floor due to bedbugs.

If you remember Regency Square mall.......it’s about half closed now.

You can always tell when an area begins to suffer from blight.....gas stations and other legit businesses begin to close and pawn shops, liquor stores and check cashing joints pop up in their place.

Also if you remember Baymeadows, it’s going downhill as well.
