The Baton Rouge, Louisiana, bar where deceased LSU student Madison Brooks and the four men charged with rape crimes against her were allegedly drinking is now under fire, with a university official announcing, "It is time for action."
"She should not have been taken from us in this way," LSU President William F. Tate IV wrote in a recent statement. "What happened to her was evil, and our legal system will parcel out justice."
Brooks, a 19-year-old sophomore, died after she was hit by a ride-share driver in the early morning hours of Jan. 15 in East Baton Rouge Parish. Four people, including a minor, have been charged in connection with events prior to her death.

These kids, especially girls just don’t understand the dangers they face in this country, the fault of media. They are prey to the violent criminal underbelly of this society that we are not allowed to discuss or acknowledge. I read that she asked these boys to take her home, which does not make it her fault. But an innocent misplaced trust is something that can’t be afforded now.
What needs to happen and it won’t, pictures and condition of these murdered girls who used bad judgement, before and after, maybe it would save lives.
Can’t imagine how the men will be exonerated. Are they going to claim it was consensual sex? With her BAC what it was? Yes, this will be interesting.
Every word of your post is true.
Theres supposedly video of this ‘nearly unconscious’ person voluntarily getting into a car. And also talking and arguing which is why she supposedly decided to leave the car in the first place. As for the BAC. Plenty of people walk and talk at that level. BACs are not laws of nature that are the same for everyone let alone the unreliability of postmortem testing. I’m not claiming to know what happened for sure I’m just saying you’re making a lot of emotional assumptions and claiming a lot of details that we actually don’t know at this point and playing into the hands of ultrafeminists who want men to be at risk of prison everytime they have sex with a woman who had a martini or they happened to offend during a date. If they’re guilty fine let them be punished but don’t go acting like you had a hidden camera there so everyone can make up their mind at the very beginning.
Re #15. Dumped her then crushed her with their car. Time to bring back the death penalty and public hangings.
dancing in the Spandau Ballet...
Got my vote.
You haven't been to a saloon in the Wild West.
Man turned on stove, women touch and get burned, mans fault.
Seriously, that’s what you get out of this whole episode? She couldn’t wait to turn these four, handsome, princes on?
actually society has to decide whether men can attack, abuse, take advantage or, and harm any female no matter if drinking or not....
boys will be boys my arse....
more excuses for male violence....just blame the victim somehow...
Sometimes the ‘victim’ is to blame sometimes not. Thats why we have a trial and the legal system rather than sending people to the chair based on skimming a dailymail article.
There are always outliers of the bell curve. Overall I’d say our society is so much more decadent than back then it might as well be foreign.
Many USSC decisions from the 60s and 70s are rightly denounced.
One of the worst was the decision that the death penalty for rape was unconstitutional under the VIii Amendment.
In fact, I believe I read that one of the 4 guys was white. But the important point here is I believe the Bar should be closed. These kids were almost all 17, 18,19. Drinking age is 21. The deceased was 19 and had blood alcohol of .319. Absolutely the bar has responsibility. A girl is dead and 4 young men looking at perhaps life in prison. All so that Reggies in Tigerland could make a buck. I did read (WBRZ) where the Parish Alcohol Control Board at least temporarily yesterday pulled Reggies alcohol license. It should be permanently pulled.
You stated it was worse or just as bad a hundred years ago. I didn’t make that claim you did
And now we can all relax and hopefully agree that evil exists and the people are capable of doing bad things
They have to blame the bar. They can’t blame the rapists
This is something one can’t reduce to a snap judgement or single sentence or single tweet-sized lesson. Yes, don’t go on bender in a dive bar, but no, nobody should be raped and left by the side of the road.
According to the media, Madison worked at the bar, and posed in friendly pictures with other workers there, so one can wonder what was going on with the rest of the staff there that night. Also, one of the alleged assailants looks White, so maybe the racial talk could be toned down.
This case reminds me of the Savannah Spurlock one from Kentucky. She was a single mother of 4 children at age 22. She had had given birth to twins about a month before. Think about that..twins. Her damned stitches probably hadn’t even came out yet. Yet she went out to party and drink and was last seen leaving a bar with THREE men in early morning hours. Herself alone…4 sleeping babies at home —-and walking out of a bar with 3 strange young men in the early morning hours. Good god the idea is incredible. She finally apparently decided to go …we can guess for what intent…with 2 almost strangers , likely drunken guys (the 3rd dropped out) in a car. She ended up murdered and in a shallow grave.
Maybe the Islamists have more wisdom than I give them credit for.
