Some Pink Floyd fans are up in arms about the rainbow colors that have accompanied the band's classic Dark Side of the Moon album artwork for nearly five decades.
The legendary music group announced Thursday that it was releasing a special 50th anniversary edition of what is already one of the best-selling albums of all time. The announcement was made on social media networks including Facebook, Instagram and Twitter, featuring an adapted image of the iconic album cover with the prism and rainbow colors.

Dumb
Like many FReepers, I can walk to the other side of the room and put my hands on that album. I’m gonna go do that.
It is woke not the same as before they updated to be fag friendly
Just saw it. You are correct. There are 7 colors of the rainbow. Satan’s rainbow has 6
Money
Do they think they own the visible spectrum now?
I note that the Dark Side cover only has 6 colors, as opposed to the 7 traditional colors of the rainbow. Which are the same 6 colors of the gay flag.
Since when did we get rid of the seventh color of the rainbow?
...not this Freeper...
Will they change the name of the album? It seems you’re now supposed to say “far side of the moon.”
I fell for the Newsweek fraud
The visible spectrum actually has infinite variations in wavelength. Our eyes have 3 color receptors which applied factorially allow us to see 6 color combinations but there are infinite shades in between those.
Ha! More like INside of the Moon.
I was but a kid but I had one of the early issues with the artwork and posters.
Another controversy was the Blind Faith studio album. After a short time they changed it to a band rehearsal picture.
On one of the documentary interviews Eric Clapton said, first let me remind everyone that no band member including myself was asked for cover approval. Almost never are artists asked to approve the sleeve content or pictures.
Second, people assume they know the age of the young woman. They are wrong.
Steve Winwood said later:
“At the time I didn’t think anything of it at all,” admitted Winwood. “But now I can see how controversial it is, because I have children of my own.”
The cover was withdrawn for the American market but in later decades was reinstated for other editions.

Never have blind faith in your album cover graphic designer.
Just an FYI, but the correct title of the album is “The Dark Side of the Moon.”
I think we’ve gotten used to the shorthand version over the years. The “the” gets lost is the shuffle.
Wiki again——

Apparently you have to choose Blind Faith album from Wikipedia search result.
I guess no one remembers that the rainbow was in the Bible before it was in any of these things.
