Aside from the fact that we already know, haven’t they admitted masks don’t do anything useful?
Once a decision is made, it can NEVER be rescinded.
If they changed their position, it would mean The State _was_ wrong. But, if The State was wrong here, they could be wrong on something else!
Best not change anything.
Could be as simple as the mask manufacturers lobbying to make “mo’ money.”
Mandating a vax-free cockpit would make more sense.

But masks are useful for helping hide the identities of rioters and other criminals. The demonrats are just trying to make it easier for mayors and governors to mandate masks so that it is easier for criminals to be criminals.
Also, given that a lot of pilots have heart conditions due to the vaxseem, if people have to mask up to fly, some will adjust their summer vacation plans to do something that involves driving versus flying, thus lowering the number of planes in the air.
Almost as if it’s the plan…

They already vaccinated the pilots into heart failure. Which by the way invalidates your class one or class two pilots medical certificate merely by taking the vaccine jabs. Unreal.
It’s all about maintaining the fear and uncertainty, and perpetuating the “COVID” fraud. They can’t keep claiming emergency powers if they don’t keep up the pretense that “COVID” is everywhere, that it is incredibly dangerous, and that compliance with the absurd and tyrannical dictates of our “leaders”, is the only thing keeping us all from dying.
All lies, of course.
And by definition, anything perpetual is not an emergency.
Or as we say in IT, if everything is a P1, nothing is a P1.
TBH, masks on airplanes are a good idea - but not the mandate. Being in such close proximity to total strangers who may carry cold, flu or even COVID, a small bit of air protection is actually smart. I understand the masks aren’t foolproof and I understand some think these are like face condoms where nothing could be further from the truth. But if it gets me from Point A to Point B without picking up other people’s germs, I’m all for it as long as it is MY choice to do so, not the government insisting I do it.
It was the same for me at a utility company. Every job was somehow a top priority. I got “in trouble” a bunch of times for publicly mocking managers’ stupidity.
Why is the DOJ involved with health?
That’s my question. Merrick Garland must need a distraction from the Biden Files.
Or they are planning to charge for criminal acts...
