Philadelphia Flyers defenseman Ivan Provorov skipped warmups on Tuesday because he refused to wear the gay pride jersey the team sponsored for its gay pride night game.
Provorov maintained that his Russian Orthodox religion prevents him from supporting the LGBTQ agenda and that is why he chose not to participate in the warmup session where the jerseys and sticks wrapped in gay pride tape were used to celebrate the team’s gay pride night, the New York Post reported.
Provorov noted that everyone is always talking about “choice,” and said, “I respect everybody. I respect everybody’s choices.” He added “my choice is to stay true to myself and my religion.”
The team put out a statement, but did not address the player’s actions directly.
“The Philadelphia Flyers organization is committed to inclusivity and is proud to support the local LGBTQ+ community,” the statement said. “Many of our players are active in their support of local LGBTQ+ organizations, and we were proud to host our annual Pride Night again this year. The Flyers will continue to be strong advocates for inclusivity and the LGBTQ+ community,” the Flyers said.

EEK!
Don’t they kind of do that in New Jersey already?
The radical homos have to insert themselves into everything and ruin it.
What is the KHL?
It’s the Russian professional hockey league.
We Babtists haven’t caved.
Correction: The current Pope and huge numbers of bishops in the West have gone off the rails and are misleading many of the faithful. This has happened more than once in the 2000 year history of the Church such as during the Arian heresy when more than 80% of the bishops at one time became Arian heretics. The Church recovered from that and many other heresies.
Official Church teaching on this matter has not changed and never will. But a teaching is only as strong as it’s teachers in any given time and place.
the bastard probably also supports Putin!
Good post...lol!
Gravely Disorderes, like our fake Il Papa and most of popular society.

I bet he always would like to be able to go home and visit his relatives without risking a jail sentence.
Thank Comcast and their recent hires for that. I wrote elsewhere on FR about that situation. Comcast is an evil empire.
Fun fact: you can pretty much spell a Russian last name any way you like, since there is no one standard accepted method of transliterating Russian to English.
I wondered about that. Most translations don’t have so many
‘V’s packed into the name. A confused tongue will just switch that V for a P, making it far easier to say.
