CAIRO, Ill., Saturday, Jan. 17.
The ram Storm left Arkansas Post on Monday, and arrived here to-day.
She confirms the capture of that place.
The attack was made on Friday evening by the gunboats.
The land force debarked two miles below, and marched to the rear of the rebel fortifications and took them.
Two miles below the main forts the rebels had erected earthworks, which were shelled by our gunboats.
The rebels replied to the fire, doing some damage to the gunboats. Three balls entered the portholes of the Lexington, killing four men.
The main fort, which is represented as very strong, surrendered on Sunday.
The officers of the Storm say that six rebel regiments were captured in the earthworks at daylight on Monday.
Two Texas regiments, which came to reinforce the place, being ignorant that it had surrendered, wore also captured.
Nearly all the ammunition taken by the rebels from the steamer Blue Wing some days since, was recaptured.
A reconnoissance which was sent up the river had not returned when the Storm left.
Our loss is not so heavy as first reported.

A Movement Against Wilmington and Goldsboro.
We find the following dispatches from North Carolina in the Richmond Whig, of Friday morning last:
WILMINGTON, Wednesday, Jan. 14.
All quiet here. It is believed that the fleet and land forces have left Newbern and Fort Macon. Their destination is, probably, Goldsboro and Wilmington, simultaneously. All non-combatants have been requested to leave town.
RALEIGH, Saturday, Jan. 15.
The State Journal has advices from Kinston of this date. Forty regiments of Abolitionists left Newbern yesterday in the direction of Wilmington, crossing Brice's Creek. A courier from Maj. NETHERCUTT reached Kinston this morning, and says the enemy, six to ten thousand strong, are advancing toward Kinston,

Our farm is 3 miles west of Hollywood, AR where the skirmish/battle of Spoonville occurred. We have consistently found Civil War bullets and cannonball on our farm.
What are the dates of those actions?
