Despite the Department of Defense rescinding the COVID-19 vaccine mandate, unvaccinated military members are still facing repercussions, including denied benefits, ineligibility for promotion, being non-deployable, and potentially diminished employment prospects for those already discharged.

On Dec. 23, President Biden signed the National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA), the $858 billion defense spending bill that included a measure repealing the mandate. On Dec. 29, the Defense Department followed suit, rescinding the mandate that has frayed military morale and resulted in the discharge of over 8,000 service members who refused the vaccine.

In rescinding the vaccine mandate, the DOD acknowledged the NDAA requires Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin to rescind his Aug. 24, 2021 memo issuing the sweeping order.

Despite the new DOD memo rescinding the August memo, however, the Army said that it didn't apply to the National Guard and Reserves because there was a separate Nov. 30, 2021 memo that hadn't been rescinded.

On Jan. 10, the defense secretary issued another memo, which rescinded the November memo in addition to the August memo…

It sucks, but I would move with my life and not answer the call of the DoD, should they be requesting former members return.

Once you are out of the military are you free from having to respond?

So why would he military have one medical policy of no jabs for active, but jabs for Reserve and National Guard? Seems like whomever is doing this should be call per out , fired and prosecuted.

“Technically” the Guard and Reserves are separate from “Active” This confusion on which letter applies falls precisely at the feet of the Affirmative Action, Token, Fat, Stupid, Secretary of Defense. Had the Moron and/or his staff written a COMPLETE letter Rescinding ALL orders in the first place, none of this would have happened. Hey Lloyd, who signed the NOVEMBER 2021 letter????

I believe a “better” letter may been written and issued, but I have no confirmation of that.

Virtue Signaling is more important than preparing for war.

Don’t try to use intelligence or common sense thinking about the Army or other branches. This retired Army Officer is so happy my service years have passed and I am not in uniform today. I would never be in this current military.
