The news that the federal government is seriously considering a ban on the sale of gas stoves caught many normal Americans off guard. It shouldn’t have. Nor should they believe it when a regulator says they won’t actually ever ban the thing.
In recent decades, regulators have wormed their way into every corner of our lives – banning some products, ruining others, and pricing others out of reach of working families – all allegedly for our benefit. The only thing that’s surprising is that they hadn’t targeted gas stoves earlier.
This week, the Consumer Product Safety Commission Commissioner Richard Trumka Jr. said that gas appliances – used in 40 million U.S. homes and every commercial kitchen on the planet – are in fact a “hidden hazard” that could be banned if they can’t be “made safe.”
A ban, he said, “is a powerful tool in our toolbox and it’s a real possibility here, particularly because there seem to be readily available alternatives already in the market.”
Trumka points to research claiming that gas stoves are linked to childhood asthma. But as National Review points out, the “research” was “funded by RMI, an environmental group with the radical goal of reducing greenhouse-gas emissions by 50% within the next seven years,” and it “was not based on any actual scientific research into the effects on the body of having a gas stove in the house during normal use.”
In other words, this is junk science, pure and simple. Yet, instead of attacking this flagrant display of misinformation, the ignoramuses in the mainstream press are all too happy to amplify it.
That’s because the real reason for talking up a federal ban on gas stoves has nothing to do with health and safety. It has everything to do with the climate “crisis.”

YOU HAVE NO IDEA!
HAR!
And now I have to flush the toilet about 3 times to be sure.
Because libtards are so smart
It does serve a purpose. Every time I flush, I curse Dems.
Fasten your seat belts! Gas water heaters are the real targets. Millions of homes have the economical gas water heater but have an electric stove. Lots of people are afraid of gas stoves but gas water heaters run more and come on automatically. Liberals call this a dangerous ticking time bomb. Democrats want everything to be electric including cars trucks and Kamalas schoolbuses. Then they want to control the people, I mean the power grid.

I bought a couple of the large bottles before they limited sales of that size to “licensed technicians”. The problem is all modern vehicles use 1234yf VERY EXPENSIVE! And it’s inflammable. The auto air change equipment analyzes for other refrigerants and if more than a few pct is found shuts off. I think the letters yf at the end stand for you’re f****d
Propane is one of the best refrigerants, but it’s inflammable. Can’t you the cheap stuff because it’s inflammable, but it’s ok to use the ultra expensive stuff because inflammable doesn’t matter if it make’s Honeywell rich.
Aha...looked up the name and I saw his father’s picture and assumed...yes I know. Thanks for the correction.
Just take a drill and you can fix your shower head.
I flush, then curse and call them Al Gore toilets.
And how about how everything must be digital now — televisions, phones, thermostats — the better to spy on you, my pretties.
There are good, functional low flow toilets, such as those with pressure assist. The downside is that they’re expensive and louder than other toilets. My personal beef with contemporary toilets is that it’s hard to find a standard 15” seat height, which is much more comfortable than the 16”-17” which used to be primarily for the handicapped, but as in far too many things the needs of a small minority now become standard for everyone.
all true, I hope you mean when you say “they” that includes republicans like Bush who took away our incandescent light bulbs..So “they” includes: socialists, the swamp, RINO’s, etc.
I use propane/isobutane for my old cars since r12 is unavailable
Ever since the war between state’s rights and the federal government, known to the rest of u as the civil war, the federal government has become stronger and stronger to the point that it has become threat to the rights of everyone on the face of planet earth!
Why flush just once when two or three can do the same job?
Which is usually what we have to do.
Maybe the demands for food changes is a quest to abolish floaters. ;-D
First They Came For My Showerhead, toilet, laundry and dishwashing detergent, the A/C coolants. And I Did Nothing, Then They Came For My Light Bulbs And I Did Nothing, Now They Want My Gas Stove And …
