SPECIAL DISPATCH FROM NASHVILLE.
NASHVILLE, Tuesday, Jan. 13.
CHEATHAM's and MCCOUN's rebel Divisions are at Shelbyville, expecting to be reinforced by Longstreet's corps, 30,000 men, from Virginia.
FORREST, WHEELER and STEARNS, with 4,000 men, and two full batteries, are marching toward Charlotte, forty miles west, their object being to destroy our transports with provisions for Gen. ROSECRANS' army.
One boat was destroyed last night, 16 miles down the river, laden with Commissary and Quartermaster's stores. Twenty men were captured and paroled. The boat and freight were burnt.
Eight regiments -- four cavalry and four infantry -- have been sent after FORREST, Gen. STANLEY commanding.
MORGAN, with 3,000 men, is again in Kentucky, and further damage to the railroad is apprehended.

NASHVILLE, Tuesday, Jan. 13.
The rebels destroyed the steamer Charter, 16 miles down the river, loaded with Commissary and Quartermasters' stores and captured 16 men. Five hundred of WHEELER's rebel cavalry are encamped on the Hardin pike, 12 miles from Nashville. Gen. MITCHELL has ordered STANLEY to pursue them.
There has been skirmishing all day. The enemy are retreating to Harpeth Shoals.

Porter and McClernand Going Up the White River.
CAIRO, Tuesday, Jan. 13.
Passengers from Memphis report that PORTER's squadron had arrived at the mouth of the White River. Part of it had commenced to ascend the river, accompanied by a heavy land force, under Gen. MCCLERNAND.
Gen. GRANT and staff had arrived at Memphis. Holly Springs was reported almost consumed. The railroad there was torn up and the rails brought to Memphis.
