Email today from Senator Jim Risch, R-ID
Have you heard? The Biden administration is looking at banning gas stoves.Gas stoves, which many Idahoans use every day to feed their families.
Gas stoves, which restaurants and chefs choose to operate their business.
Gas stoves, which save households up to 30% or $350 on utility bills each year.
Why is this a priority?
Simply put, the Biden administration is considering whether the government should prevent the purchase of new gas stoves and even if Americans' gas stoves should be taken away.
Obviously, this isn’t the first time the Biden Administration has abused taxpayer dollars to advance their agenda, and I am sure it won’t be the last.
What do you think? Is the Biden administration's crusade against gas stoves a waste of time?
☐ Yes
☐ No
I’m sure we are a ways from his re-election campaign.
Wow, it’s astonishing how fast these horrendous ideas sweep the world, isn’t it? The Internet plus speed of light transmission in transoceanic fiber optic cables makes that possible.
Why don’t good ideas such as limited government, freedom and liberty also get spread around the world. It’s like the aphorism “A lie is halfway round the world before the truth has got its boots on”
Only “Bad, tyrannical ideas get halfway round the world before the good idea has got its boots on.’
While very true, it is also true that the federal government has slipped the constraints of limited government and is a tyrannical behemoth beyond comprehension. They have done countless destructive things way beyond the enumerated and limited powers granted in the Constitution. That argument won't be a good one to deliver to Risch. Hopefully it can be applied by SCOTUS when it gets to them.
I'm looking for concrete things to recommend to Risch to fight this. His question at the end of his email is horrendous in its limited thinking:
What do you think? Is the Biden administration's crusade against gas stoves a waste of time?Whether it is a wasted of time is inconsequential. Who CARES if it is a waste of time? What matters is the tyrannical nature of what they are doing.
They've been working on that for decades. They got the requirement for catalytic converters on stoves passed a long time ago.
We have the same (except an electric clothes drier) plus two gas fireplaces. Our combined gas and electric bill last month was $450! I feel like I’m back in the Bay Area.
Wood burning was rated “Carbon Neutral” by Eurocrats.
Some leftys including Ms. Thunberg are trying to overturn that ruling.
LOL.
But I can tell that isn’t real because they don’t have enough tactical gear, no ropes for rappelling into your kitchen, no black face masks, no assault weapons and I don’t see their MRAP parked on the front lawn.
True! LOLOL
Yeah, not up for reelection until 2025.
I’m pretty sure our natgas is domestically sourced.
