And we should keep in mind Evel’s equipment was terrible. It’s amazing how seat of the pants he was. Just compare his Ceasar’s jump to Robbie’s, look at the landing ramps. That’s what made Evel’s crash, his ramp flexed like crazy, then bounced back up, his foot came off the peg, and that was it. Robbie’s ramp could probably have a car dropped on it and wouldn’t flex. So that rocket was probably really under engineered, serious backyard type stuff. Of course it could be the button was in a bad place and the Gs made him bump it. I’d still call that equipment failure. I took a lot of bumps and bruises playing Evel Knienvel on my back, also with under engineered ramps.
If Pancreatic is found early there is more hope than there used to be. The problem like many of the gastric cancers, it can be quite advanced before discovery.
I was told by someone, as I was going through stomach cancer treatment and surgery, that operating on a pancreas is like operating on a lump of warm butter — too little structure — like trying to get egg shell bits out of raw egg.
The ultimate survival rate for all of us is zero. Now, if you’re talking about 5 year survival...
we will never see the likes of the Knievel's again...
God speed..
my roommate found out he had pancreatic cancer and was dead in 6 weeks.
I was going by old data....it’s actually closer to 10 or 11%.......still not a positive prognosis by any stretch.
And my Uncle.
F*ck cancer.
Jumping 32 busses and right through the Pearly Gates...
The new 5 year SEER was released this week. It’s up to 12%.
Early detection, successful surgery, and chemo can be curative. The problem is that it spreads quietly, so the victim doesn’t even realize they a dying, until it’s way too late.
Steve had cancer of the tail of the pancreas. It is highly curable or at least maintainable.
Jobs was a moron who thought he could rid himself without standard treatment. He is a fool.
When my wife had her PC surgery, the process took so long because getting “clean margins” was tough because it was mushy.
Still.....12%.......not something I would ever want to hear.
Same thing with our veterinarian. He lived 6 weeks after being diagnosed.
Well, this may actually be a legit death, no matter the jab history.
Let’s not forget “Super Dave” Osborne and Yoshi, coulda been way up dare.
LMAO! You beat me to it!
Sitting in on my wife’s first oncology visit was horrifying. (She had already had surgery.)
He took out a note pad and said, “If you do nothing, you will be gone in a year.”
“If you do chemo, 50% chance you’ll be around in 3 years.”
She is at 3 1/2 years. They don’t use the “cure” word. But, they’ve cut way back on scans and visits. Blood work every 3 months.
It is like having a sword over our head. But you learn to live with it.
I hope things continue to improve for you and your wife my friend. 🙏
