“Russia reportedly abducted as many as 2,000 children from Ukraine into Russia since Jan. 1, Michael Carpenter, the U.S. Ambassador to the OSCE, said on Jan. 13.
Russian forces have unlawfully transferred or deported thousands of Ukrainian civilians to Russia, violating the Geneva Conventions, Carpenter said.
As of Dec. 22, 2022, Ukrainian authorities quoted by a Detektor Media investigation said that more than 13,000 thousand children were forcibly removed from Ukraine by Russia.
The Ukrainian military’s National Resistance Center said on Jan. 10 that the Russian military is compiling lists of those who can be mobilized into the army after graduation, starting with those who will come of age in 2023.
The center also said that children born in 2005-2006 in Russian-occupied territories in Luhansk and Donetsk oblasts must already register for compulsory military service.
“This advance planning to use Ukraine’s children as cannon fodder for Russia’s war is – I have no other words – it’s just plain evil,” Carpenter said.“It would also be a violation of the laws of war for Russia to conscript citizens of Ukraine from the areas Russia occupies.”

In their Jan. 13 update, the General Staff of Ukraine’s Armed Forces reported that Ukraine’s rocket and artillery forces hit 12 temporary bases of Russian troops, an S-300 anti-aircraft missile system, three ammunition depots, and three other key Russian sites.
Ukrainian forces repelled Russian attacks near 18 settlements, including Stelmakhivka, Makiivka and Bilohorivka in the Luhansk Oblast and Spirne, Rozdolivka, Sil, Krasna Hora, Pidhorodne, Bakhmut, Klishchiivka, Predtechyne, Kurdiumivka, Vodiane, Nevelske, Krasnohorivka, Mariinka and Velyka Novosilka in Donetsk Oblast.
According to the Ukrainian military, the Russian army launched five missiles on cities in Donetsk and Zaporizhzhia oblasts, 18 air strikes, and 52 MLRS attacks. Ukrainian forces also downed a Russian Su-25 aircraft and an Orlan-10 type of drone.
Why would I have “evidence” of something that sounds deranged?

Obviously, the Ukraine war is an important topic to many FReepers. There will be both pro-Ukraine and pro-Russia posting and threads quite often. We don’t need to litter these up with garbage language and personal attacks. It’s about time we all put our feet down and show some respect.
Update on Russian military operations in Ukraine for January 13, 2022.
- Russian advances near Soledar and Bakhmut contradict “Ukrainian offensive momentum” narrative;
- Russian operations are consistent with the “demilitarization” objective for the special military operation;
- Bakhmut & Soledar are fortified cities along one of Ukraine’s last defensive lines in the Donbass region;
- West is announcing plans to send Western main battle tanks including Challenger 2 and Leopard 2 tanks;
- Challenger 2 and Leopard 2 tanks use different ammunition & both require an additional crew member (loader) increasing training demands for Ukrainian forces;
- The large variety of equipment the West is sending will create additional burdens for Ukrainian forces without any notable benefit;
- Western main battle tanks have proven to be vulnerable to (Russian-made) modern anti-tank weapons even under relatively ideal conditions;
- Ukrainian forces will be going into battle without sufficient artillery or air cover and facing off against Russian forces reinforced with an additional 300k men, new defenses, and an influx of new weaponry;

Every Freeper, every person, is entitled to Freedom of thought and expression. Each of us can at least respect the opinions of others even if personally we don’t agree.
The Free Republic site supports and gives each Freeper the opportunity to share information toward the goal to increase our own learning. This pursuit of knowledge is vital to learn and know the difference between what “we believe to be true” and “what is fundamentally true.”
The nature of the Ukrainian government, its military, and the Nazi groups that control that government and military are well known, that knowledge is not any sort of a state secret. One of the Russian demands you read about is "deNazification of Ukraine. Moreover, if somebody is less than happy with being called a "nazi shill", there is a simple solution: DO NOT SHILL FOR NAZIS OR ASSIST THEM IN DISSEMINATING THEIR PROPAGANDA!!.
Seemingly from the beginning of the present conflict in Ukraine there has been a gaggle of ten or twenty people making a tireless effort to spread neocon and nazi propaganda, much of it totally at odds with what you see on reliable sources and I waited until around two months ago to start calling them out for it or calling them liars or shills.
These people have been polluting FR with this garbage and now seemingly are demanding to be treated with respect as if there were a question of "even-handedness" involved. There is a Yiddish word for that kind of thing ( "Chutzpah") e.g. the kid who murders his parents and then demands leniency for being an orphan. Concern over "even-handededness" when dealing with such types is clearly misplaced. 
Propaganda:
information, especially of a biased or misleading nature, used to promote or publicize a particular political cause or point of view.
So you are BOTH are doing it. Would not be Free Republic without different factions pushing their narratives.
BUT personal attacks are not allowed. It’s that simple.
