I tip 10% for takeout, 20% for full service. Restaurant employees get paid crap. If it is a restaurant where I know the wait staff and manager, 20% is my minimum. Takeout (not pizza) requires some effort to package and check.

My father always tipped 20% even 6 decades ago, for cabs, restaurants, etc. I always thought that was a good amount.
I’ve always preferred to tip in cash, though, fearing that some people don’t really get their full tips.

They do. But they know that when they accept the job. I did. Ninety cents an hour plus tips.
If they want more pay, get better skills.
