My father always tipped 20% even 6 decades ago, for cabs, restaurants, etc. I always thought that was a good amount.
I’ve always preferred to tip in cash, though, fearing that some people don’t really get their full tips.
They don’t always get the full top. Plus when you give cash they don’t have to claim it on their taxes.
