Yep, many places asking for tips even for carry out. They want a 20% tip for services? Fine but get my freaking order correct then! I really don’t remember the last time my carry out order was 100 percent correct. Screw the tip, if they don’t care enough to ensure correct orders why should I subsidize their laziness.
I noticed the default “tip” on a credit card reader was 20% with no other option except “other.” 20% to get 2 beers for me and a friend? When the beers are already $6 a pint? Come on man.
I choose $0 tip if I’m picking up the order. The tipping culture needs to end.
“Instead, it falls on customers in the US to make up for the shortcomings of our government and employers who don’t fairly compensate workers.”
Government doesn’t pay their employees fairly?
I like to tip. Usually *WAY* too much. I have enough money. I’d rather give a five spot to the poor schlub standing at the counter making my sandwich than see some A-hole preacher or CEO with a private jet or supercar get one cent of my income.
May people who don’t tip joyously lose everything and have to work a minimum wage, no benefits, on your feet crap job until they die.
I have more respect for the pizza delivery guy than any SOB in a corner office with a personal assistant and an expense account.
Tipping says everything about the state of one’s soul, very little about the service received.
This person needs a good ass beating.
