Saudi Arabia to Hit USA Where it Hurts... by Buying WWE!

Saudi Public Investment Fund making an offer

The Wall Street Journal reported just days ago that Vince McMahon was returning to WWE to sell the company. Now, it seems that he is set to sell the company to Saudi Arabia.

It has only been a few months since the leader had stepped down as executive chairman due to a sexual harassment scandal. On doing so, he had handed over the reins of the entertainment giant to his daughter Stephanie and son-in-law Triple H, although he remained the majority shareholder.

Following a statement from WWE, it was confirmed last night that McMahon, 77, was indeed returning to his former position, an abrupt and unexpected move. Previously, his daughter Stephanie had stepped down as CO-CEO and Chairman of the Board.

Newcastle, LIV Golf...now WWE

According to several media outlets, this reshuffle was in order to accelerate a possible sale of the company. In fact, as per Steven Muehlhausen of DAZN News, WWE has already been sold to the Saudi Arabian Public Investment Fund.

The state-owned Investment fund also owns the Premier League's Newcastle United and LIV Golf. Reports suggest they have been interested in adding WWE to their portfolio for some time.

For the moment, the company has remained silent, although there are already many critical voices speaking up against the WWE boss for negotiating the possible sale of a symbol of the United States to the Middle Eastern country. This operation would also turn the company back into a private company and would return McMahon to his role as chief creative officer.

In all this, it is worth remembering also that it was only last June that McMahon left his positions on the Board after it became known that he had paid 12 million dollars to four women to avoid allegations of sexual misconduct.

I am so okay with this. Take it all over there. Finally Saudi Arabia is doing something to justify what we've done for them.

If only someone knew what WWE meant. Another case of UAU—Unidentified Acronym Usage.. To the uninitiated, life is more than acronyms that have no meaning. We do not watch TV and have no use for it....

Me too, as long as they keep their grubby hands off women’s beach volleyball. Hijabs would ruin the whole thing.

I used to walk the WWF in the 90s as a teen. It was hilarious. Haven’t watched it for nigh on 18 years now.

I think what made the WWF/WWE so popular was its soap opera lines - and especially Vince McMahon, the man you loved to hate.

That’s going to end when he sells it.

Saudi Arabia’s “investments” mostly turn out to be financial bombs in my knowledge. So I expect them to buy this and it to steadily lose value

What’s the problem? Someone else can just start up a competitor to WWE. Costs would be relatively low.

It’s not like it involves national security.

Don’t care about the LIV golf tour either.

Saudis can throw their money away any way they want.

A LOT of people were rooting for Stone Cold Steve Austin to kick McMahon’s ass. Living out their fantasies of revenge against an heartless or control freak boss. The selling off WWE strikes me right now as just a rumor.
