Born in Germany, brought to America with the German immigrants, the bratwurst is more than just a sausage. In Wisconsin, they are never actually called bratwurst, although they certainly understand you if you call them that. In Wisconsin, they are just “brats” and they are everywhere in the badger state

“I got Hosley’s bacon a while ago and it was the bomb.”

Nice folks, too. Next time you’re there try the landjager. It’s excellent.

We use Hosely’s ‘Spa’ for processing the beef we raise. They are really good at what they do.

I’ve never tried their brats, but I will. Thanks!

Grab a landjager while you’re there. You’ll thank me later.

When you can find them in the INFERNO, or in the store? LOL!

Beau is great for setting our grill on fire. Happens like clockwork. I’m surprised he still has eyebrows! ;)

I have a friend that is addicted to the Hosely’s landjager; I’ve heard rave reviews. :)

In the store.

I have far fewer fires now that the legendary Mrs. Whiskers bought me a Traeger pellet grill for Father’s Day.

I *love* that thing!

Brats are a way of life in WI.

When you do fund raisers for various charities there they are never hamburgers and hotdogs.. they are Brat Fries.

See them in parking lots all summer long in small towns across wisconsin... the Jaycees, or Kiwanis or whatever organization you will will have their folding tables and grill out cooking away. Can you get a hotdog or hamburger instead? Usually they do have them too.. but there is no doubt Brats are the star of the show.

Brat’s will always be tied to my Grandfather, that and Braunschweiger... among other things.

Miss that old man.

The summer community picnics (Fireman’s etc)generally go through thousands of pounds of brats each year in Sheboygan County WI. The Howards Grove picnic went through over 4 thousand pounds one year.

The Sheboygan CO Fair goes through I dont know how many thousand pounds of Brats and Hamburgers each year.
