Donald Trump: America’s clear choice in 2024
The Washington Times ^ | Jan 9 | By Rep. Troy E. Nehls

OPINION:

Since former President Donald Trump boldly announced his campaign for the next presidential election in 2024 just two months ago at Mar-a-Lago, the media and the establishment haven’t known exactly what to do.

There have been the usual smears and phony “scandals,” there have been predictable attempts by the Republican establishment to blame the GOP’s midterm disappointments on Mr. Trump, and there has been plenty of wishful thinking in the media on how he can’t win again.

This is all nonsense. Mr. Trump has the strongest record of anyone running for president in 2024, the best chance of any Republican in the general election, and a serious and impressive agenda for his second term on America First policies.

Mr. Trump has a solid record of delivering on his promises. During his presidency, the economy boomed, the stock market soared, and unemployment fell to a 50-year low. Mr. Trump kept us out of foreign wars and fought every day to build the wall and enforce our immigration law. He also reshaped the judiciary and named three Supreme Court justices who handed power back to the states and the people, all while fighting the fake news attacks and hoax investigations every step of the way. He is, without a doubt, the most effective conservative leader in a generation.

President Biden’s administration is working hard and fast to undo all the good that Mr. Trump accomplished. The stock market closed out with the worst year since the Great Recession of 2008. The border is wide open, inflation is crushing Americans, and the United States is once again sending billions overseas while our veterans are forgotten and left behind. Sixty-three percent of Americans think this country is on the wrong track, and so do I.

I don’t think I am so isolated in thinking the rah-rah is too much. How else do you account for DeSantis’ popularity. Even on the FR forum the enthusiasm is a fraction of what it was before. If Trump is the nominee, there will be a **huge** rejection of the Republicans in 2024.

Sorry, but the still-proud father of the deadly warp-speed vaccine is not electable. He accomplished some great things as President, but I haven’t ever seen him learn from a mistake.

Trump has no path to the White House in 2024.

He'll lose every state he lost in '20, and probably NC as well.

He's poison to independents and swing voters.

His time has passed. The tank is empty. The magic is gone.

And today, he's a defeated shell of his former self, angry and sullen.

I mean, seriously, does this inspire anyone?

Plenty of Never Trumping/RINO FReepers, many Bushites, who stayed quiet during the height of Trump’s popularity but think they have found an opening after the midterms.

This piece is right on, if Ron DeSantis were out of the picture.

Back when FR was more tightly regulated they would have been zotted in the blink of an eye.

A lame duck 80 year old with no ability to pick and manage people? No thanks.

Trump's weakness is his obsession with managing his image even when more drastic action was required. Gen. Flynn, Parick Byrne, and Syndey Powell wanted trump to invoke the Insurrection Act and call forth the militia because the election was hacked. Trump dithered before caving in to his handlers who thought it didn't look good. If he had followed their advice, things would be different today. Trump sticking with McCarthy signals he only wants to challenge the GOP establishment, and Congressional power in small steps. It may be too late for that.

I agree with your post and your conclusion. It doesn’t feel good saying so, but truth is heavier than feelings, at least it usually is for conservatives.

Yup, senior status is a big downer on Trump.

We pilloried Biden over it, but of course, per EverTrumpers, it does not apply to SuperTrump.

Back when FR was more tightly regulated they would have been zotted in the blink of an eye.

Well it could be, in case you haven't noticed, that a couple of the biggest concerns for Freepers NOW are the dangers of the mRNA gene modification program, and LGBTQ indoctrination programs, both of which Trump appears to support.

2016 was a long time ago, my friend.

Look...I’ll be 79 in a few days. I’m in much better health than Trump. But I can’t lie to myself....Good health and life is a “guess” at this age.

I’m not sure about PDJT in 2024, but not because of his age. You can’t compare his mental acuity, energy, with Biden’s.

Like him or not Trump HAS to be the next President otherwise get use to the deep state deciding elections forever.

The message HAS to be sent that we the people will not stand for their corrupt totalitarian BS, we will not stand for fixed elections, we will not stand for fraudulent investigations, we will not stand for fake impeachments, we will not stand for corruption, we will not stand for open borders, we will not stand for economic destruction, we will not stand for our children being indoctrinated by perverts.

Trump being nominated and then winning the Presidency would be the biggest middle finger the people could ever give to these scumbags.

I understand your reasoning, like a lot of people you think he cannot win, but that’s bending a knee to these scumbags before the fight even begins.

They’ll do the same to DeSantis and anyone else that runs. DeSantis has Italian heritage, they’ll make up BS to connect him to the Mafia, they’ll hire the usual whores to accuse him of sexual assault, they hold fake investigations accusing him of corruption, and then they will fix the election. What makes you think they will not?

Yes Trump has the personality of a lout, but that’s EXACTLY what is needed against these people, a hard ass to take them on. Our government if you haven’t noticed, is currently under occupation by domestic enemies who deserve ZERO respect. They are SCUM of the earth! The alternative is we end up in another Civil war or spend the rest of our lives living under tyranny.
