Prince Harry has expressed doubt over the official account of how his mother, Princess Diana, died in a car crash.
"There's a lot of things that are unexplained," he said in an ITV interview about his memoir, Spare.
Prince Harry said he had been left with a "post-traumatic stress injury" after his mother's death in 1997 and had struggled to accept she had died.
He also spoke of wanting to reconnect with his family, but blamed the UK press for creating "conflict".
Harry spoke of the emotional impact of the death of his mother and in his book describes returning to the scene of the car accident in Paris.
He said: "I'd always imagined the tunnel was some treacherous passageway, inherently dangerous but it was just a short, simple, no frills tunnel. No reason anyone should ever die inside it."
He saw no point in reopening inquiries into the car accident - but questioned the official conclusions about the night of the crash.
A 2008 inquest found Diana was unlawfully killed partly due to the "gross negligence" of her driver who had been drunk and driving at excessive speed.
In the ITV interview, Prince Harry said that the tunnel posed "no danger of anybody losing control even after a drink or a couple of drinks… [It is] almost physically impossible to lose control of a vehicle unless you are completely blinded at the wheel," implying that distraction from the paparazzi may have caused the driver to crash.
"The people that were predominantly responsible for it, all got away with it," he said.

Prince Phillip was born to Greek and Danish royal families.
Russian, Prussian/German and UK royals are all related to both sides of Phillip’s family.
I also think he has every right to wonder about his mother’s death. He will never know any more than he does now. He will need to accept that and he could if he didn’t have Meghan opening the wound up all the time. She seems to love mocking his family and creating wedges.
Harry and Meghan need to shut up and go away for a long time.

Prince Phillip had the surname Mountbatten and has links to several German and Danish royal houses with multi-hyphenated titles, and bore the general title Prince of Greece and Denmark within that.
Some lesser members of the royal family have the surname Mountbatten-Windsor, but the Queen took the idea of the “House of Mountbatten” out of existence by royal proclamations early in her reign. Apparently Philip’s father thought the monarchy should become the House of Mountbatten.

Greek royal was German in origin. One of Prince Albert’s diplomatic deals and I think a relative. When the Greek nation arose from its 400 years Ottoman occupation there were no identifiable Greek blood royals left - perhaps the closet were the Romanovs.

I only noticed this kind of stuff because of the odd claim that UK royals were ultimately descendants of King David of Israel. King David was a redhead and perhaps Solomon as well. Queen Victoria certainly believed such, and King Charles was circumcised by traditional Jewish mohel, Jacob Snowman.
