A Georgia man was arrested on a fugitive warrant after facial recognition technology mistakenly linked him to the theft of luxurious purses in a state he’d not been to.

Randall Reid, 28, was arrested in DeKalb County, Georgia after law enforcement officials followed their facial recognition technology matches, which ended up being wrong.

“They told me I had a warrant out of Jefferson Parish. I said, ‘What is Jefferson Parish?'” Reid said.

They did some of the development of this nonsense at Arizona State University. They tried using it against those attending football games and quickly discovered that face paint flummoxes it. So they ordered that face paint at games was banned. The official reason? Racism.

At the time, cynics said that red, orange and green people found it to be offensive.

However, wits soon realized that there were invisible, to human vision, face paints, that would also screw up the system. But by that time, the government contract was over.

However, black people still remain the nemesis of the technology. They are like Scottish to voice recognition.

What happens you confront the people that did this to you, in a citizens arrest, and they resist arrest?

“My attorney will be needing the name and address of the software company, and of course the name of the person in your department who made the decision to use it”.

And you'll get laughed at when you say that. "I'll sue you!" isn't nearly the threat that a lot of people think it is. You've got to find an attorney that'll take the case first, which is unlikely because you're not likely to get much if any money from it. The ONLY thing attorneys think about is if they can make money from it, and it would be an uphill battle suing a company working for the government & getting anything out of it.

The damages awarded have to be monumental so that they think twice about this kind of abuse.

Almost every major town has that one attorney who would take a case such as this. They dislike government over-reach and enjoy suing them, over and over again. They have researched the laws in-depth and get creative and are willing to take it to a jury. I know an attorney such as this and he wins probably 90% of his cases. If he is pissed enough about your treatment, he will do it while fronting the costs and will not charge unless he wins an monetary award. Government thugs hate to see him coming.

Even worse is you read a couple paragraphs folklores by a screen shot showing the same thing. Rinse. Repeat throughout the article.
