I believe the appointment of the next House Sergeant at Arms (HSAT) is a very important part of the process if we are ever to have a chance to get to the bottom of what really happened on January 6th, 2021, at the Capitol Building.
After Kevin McCarthy was unfortunately elected speaker and sworn in instead of a better candidate (such as Jim Jordan IMHO), a few officers of the congress were appointed. That was a moment I had been waiting for because as I said I believe the next HSAT could be a vital part of releasing documents/video and investigating what happened on January 6th.
I now have a concern because I have been able to easily research and find out facts and news articles about most of the Officers McCarthy appointed (such as Clerk), but there seems to be an almost total news and information blackout on who was appointed Sergeant at Arms or that one was even appointed.
Furthermore, when he was going through the procedures and script of swearing members in and naming Officers of the 118th Congress McCarthy was going through things quite smoothly, but when he was naming the new HSAT he suddenly slowed down, changed his speaking rhythm, started looking far to his left at someone a few times, and then stumbled some in naming the person. I believe he appointed “William McFarland of Maryland”. That spelling could be off because I have tried every version I could think of in searches and have found no person of note.
I could quite likely be paranoid, but that still doesn’t mean I am wrong. I am asking fellow Freeper friends here if they share similar concerns and I am also asking this large intelligent group if they can assist in finding out if we can trust this new HSAT. I am concerned any person appointed by McCarthy would be a dedicated member of the Uniparty Swamp just like McCarthy is.

The scriptures tell us that all things should be done “decently and in order”.
If one’s actions cannot stand the light of day then one would be advised to pursue a course of action that can stand the light of day.
The American Experiment in Government is one that is designed for a Moral People who are God Fearing and is meant to be open so that all may see the honorable actions of honorable men or vice versa.
Prayers for those in government are greatly needed more than ever in our history. Amen.

IMO, ANY employee or staffer of the Congress as a whole body (i.e., not a partisan slot) that was hired by, appointed by, confirmed by Pelosi or otherwise should be summarily FIRED by the new Speaker, period. And that includes career employees like the Capitol Police or HSAT whatever. If they cannot be fired then ensure their transfer OUT of Congress to another equivalent career service position. January 6, 2022 showed my why.
McCarthy was only elected Speaker about 12 hours ago.
Understood. I just find it concerning that everywhere I look, even the congressional webpage, news articles, databases, everywhere I look, everything and every position holder has been updated except that one very important role.
Our government operates in the dark because it has to.

Jordon didn’t want the job. He wants to investigate instead of being tied up as speaker.
An interesting note: One of the 2 HSATs died within weeks of the Jan 6 Coup. What are the odds ...?

Good to know. Usually a lack of info is due to either incompetence or corruption. Depressing to realize that incompetence is about the best we can hope for.

I just saw a list of concessions that McCarthy gave up for the vote, on Newsmax TV, and one of them was:
Re-Opening of the Capital, and Elimination of All COVID Protocols
Seems like this shouldn’t have been a point of contention, but on the other hand it shows how McCarthy can’t really be trusted on some of the most basic things.

Did anyone else see the term HSAT and then think Asshat...or is it just me?
Glad they finally listed something. I have checked there and several other places many times and while the other officers were listed. The Sergeant at Arms wasn’t.
Still odd he’s the only one listed as “acting” since they are all newly appointed, but it’s nice to have a name.
Unfortunately now we are left to wonder if he is the same person by that name that worked in the House Security Office from October 2008 to October 2021 as shown in post 11 by Golden Eagle.
If so, that person was at the Capitol before and after Jan 6 2021 and they might be part of the cover up and more of the same old swamp creatures. I hope that’s not the case, but fear it is.
