Texas fires Chris Beard amid domestic family violence charge

Beard was arrested on the morning of Dec. 12 after his fiancée, Randi Trew, told officers he choked her from behind, bit her and hit her when the two got in an argument. Trew released a statement on Dec. 23 in which she denied telling police Beard choked her.

"Chris did not strangle me, and I told that to law enforcement that evening," Trew said in her statement. "Chris has stated that he was acting in self-defense, and I do not refute that. I do not believe Chris was trying to intentionally harm me in any way."

Did she deny being choked but not the other acts?

I think she compared Beard’s actions to a Big 10 football semifinalist.

He violated the contract he signed with UT.

“Any conduct (a) that the University administration reasonably determines is clearly unbecoming to a Head Coach and reflects poorly on the University, the Program, or The University of Texas System; or (b) resulting in a criminal charge being brought against Head Coach involving a felony, or any crime involving theft, dishonesty, or moral turpitude,”

Mr. Beard should have read the fine print.

Has Beard been found guilty of anything? When was the trial?

“Has Beard been found guilty of anything?”

The contract he willingly signed does not mention ‘guilty.’

However, it does mention being charged with a felony, and moral turpitude.

He was charged with a felony and his actions are clearly a violation that clearly are a violation of moral turpitude.

She attacked him and he pushed her away. She did the chick move and called the cops to regain power over him. These idiot women think they’ll get the cops to scare him, and then say “well he did X, Y, and Z, but I don’t want him arrested”.
Cops are specifically trained to ignore her wishes.

So she lost her mealticket. Dump her and sue her.

Can’t say that I ever thought much of Chris Beard, or thought little of him.

Mr. Beard read his contract and the contract does not state being convicted of a felony, it states being charged with a felony, and he is charged with a felony. Mr. Beard violated the terms of the contract he signed with the University of Texas.

If its a lie he didn’t violate anything. It would then be that Mr Beard was a victim of a fradulent setup by a vindictive party trying to deprive him of his livlihood by deliberately exploiting said clause in his contract.

“...deliberately exploiting said clause in his contract.”

Then Mr. Beard should not have signed that contract.

At the very least, his behavior was unbecoming of his position and reflected poorly on the university.

That’s all it takes, behavior that is unbecoming of his position and reflects poorly on the university and they can terminate his employment.

Again, if its a lie, he never committed any unbecoming behavior.

This type of clause allows the university to simply pay someone to file any felony charge they want against him, in order to void his contract.

“This type of clause allows the university to simply pay someone to file any felony charge they want against him, in order to void his contract.”

Chris Beard, without a gun to his head, signed his employment contact with the University of Texas. He could have refused the offer or demanded the the wording of the contract be amended.

Chris Beard will sue his former employer, but he will be going up against the university that has the largest endowment of any public university in the country and the wealthiest athletic program in the country and that all buys very good lawyers.

the University may settle with Chris Beard, but they will not be paying out the remainder of his contract.
