He Won’t “Budge an Inch to Conservatives…But We All Know He’ll Fold Like a Cheap Tent to the Democrats” – Catturd on Kevin McCarthy
Gateway Pundit ^

The Catturd account on Truth Social is totally behind the 20 GOP US Representatives who will not vote for Kevin McCarthy for Speaker. Some of his Truths are spot on.

(snip)

Maybe they’ll let McCarthy be Speaker of the House in Ukraine.

(snip)

Good morning to everyone and a reminder Dan Crenshaw called all you “terrorists” and “the enemy” if you don’t support McCarthy.

Well, I’m going to pass along what a very conservative congressman told me yesterday:

McCarthy gave in on EVERY rules change the holdouts wanted, including the vacate rule; he agreed to every single committee assignment and chairman they desired. “At this point he gave them every thing they wanted. They cannot name one single thing any more.”

BTW, “broken promises,” chair appointments and committee appointments are done deals. Can’t be undone. And these are extremely powerful positions. Even Andy Biggs told me a few months ago those were as important as the Speaker.

Gaetz’ votes have been bouncing around like a pinball today. He surely doesn’t portray a stable congress critter.

The concessions McCarthy has given would make him a worthy leader of the House. I do not trust him. I want someone else.

Needs to be in writing. I don't trust McCarthy (or most politicians for that matter) as far as I can spit.

You do understand that written promises can be broken as easily as oral ones? Munich 1938?

Well, according to my loving bride of 37 years, if you’re making a point with men you must repeat it three times ... but she’s likely referring only to me, a reference I admit is diffult to refute. (hey! I’m thinking about other “important stuff” ... like bowling or country music ...)

Yeah democracy in action is terrible. We need to be like the Democrats and fall in line under the party bosses.

Pffft. This is nothing. In Israel we had six general elections until we finally got a semi-conservative government. By adopting this exact strategy of finally telling the liberals to bite it.

Actual representative representing is strong.

What this means is McCarthy doesn’t have what it takes to lead the party.

They need to move on and pick an actual conservative.

Tucker gets in on the action:

“You don’t want to ruled by a man who wears a Ukrainian flag lapel pin and who lives with Frank Luntz?”

So, would you rather have congress all wrapped up to further destroy this country or be in the chaos it is now without getting anything done.

Republicans could have 300 folks in the House, given that the Dems control the Senate and White House, nothing is being done anyway.

There will be no border security. Nothing the Republicans want will happen unless the democrats get more

Millions have come in. Millions more will come. And not a one will be deported.

Simple truth.

He doesn’t have the votes, don’t talk to us, we don’t get to vote on this question.

I think the hand wringing is from the oligarchy feeling like they are losing a little more control. It makes me happy to see their anguish.

I don’t see chaos in the proceedings. Gaetz is erratic. He reminds me of somebody strung out on cocaine.

1) Nothing in DC is put in writing.
2) The rebels have one thing going for them: no more Uke money gets spent til they get a Speaker.

Plenty of good folks have decided that McCarthy should be put in because we aren’t going to get anybody better, and that he made enough deals to get the job. President Trump is one of them.

I am not one of them, but I am always glad to hear from other Freepers who disagree properly. A lot of good folks voted for Romney as lesser of two evils, I did not. A lot of us voted for McCain because of Palin, as I did.

The Freepers who are not plants are a pretty elite group. But if we chase out half of them on every controversial issue, we won’t have much of a site left.

In my opinion Gaetz reminds meof the infamous Hunter Biden....reckless, irrational and incorrigible. I suspect that we would do quite well without him.
