CINCINNATI -- Buffalo Bills safety Damar Hamlin is showing "remarkable improvement" after collapsing from cardiac arrest Monday night during a game against the Cincinnati Bengals, the team said Thursday morning.
"Per the physicians caring for Damar Hamlin at the University of Cincinnati Medical Center, Damar has shown remarkable improvement over the past 24 hours," the team said in a statement on Twitter. "While still critically ill, he has demonstrated that he appears to be neurologically intact. His lung continue to heal and he is making steady progress."
Hamlin, 24, remains hospitalized in critical condition in the intensive care unit at University of Cincinnati Medical Center. The second-year safety from the University of Pittsburgh collapsed during the Monday Night Football game against the Bengals after making a tackle in the first quarter.

Hamlin's teammate, fellow defensive back Kaiir Elam, also tweeted Thursday morning that Hamlin was "doing better, awake and showing more signs of improvement."
Doctors had told family members Wednesday morning that Hamlin's condition was moving in a "positive direction," according to Hamlin family spokesperson Jordon Rooney.
Rooney told ABC News he could not qualify or elaborate on what "positive direction" meant, but said doctors are seeing the progress they are looking for.
The Bills also confirmed that Hamlin has shown "signs of improvement" Tuesday and overnight.

In an interview with ABC News, Rooney also clarified statements made by Hamlin's uncle, Dorrian Glenn, who said Tuesday that Hamlin had to be resuscitated twice -- on the field and at the hospital. Rooney said that was a misunderstanding and that Hamlin was not resuscitated more than once.
Responding to reports that the defibrillator used on Hamlin malfunctioned, Rooney said those reports were incorrect and that all of the medical equipment worked properly.

good news hopefully.
Cautiously optimistic. Hope his condition continues to improve.
His lung continue to heal and he is making steady progress. …The team done gots to use ebonix in they statement.
Wouldn’t he have likely have had a (relatively) empty stomach at the time the game started (and therefore at the time of his arrest)?
I agree. If he WAS resuscitated twice, that would be “debunked” quickly, as it would point to the factor that shall not be named.
I hope this young man makes a stunning and full recovery - the power of prayer on display.

BREAKING: Bills safety Damar Hamlin is awake and holding hands with family members.
Amazing news. Praise God.
God is great!
He was vaxxxxxxine boosted just a few days before his heart stopped.
ALL who are vaxxxxxxed have heart damage as measured by a blood test on 566 patients who had been tested for years and nothing like this was ever seen before. That is, until they got their vaxxxxxines. Then the average risk of heart problems in the next five years more than doubled!
Fact Checkers say this information needs more study, not statistically valid, needs double blind.... ALL absolute BS. This set of 566 observations PROVES the clot shots cause heart damage.
You don't have to look very hard to find YOUNG athletes dropping dead of heart problems.
RUMBLE VIDEO A YEAR OF ATHLETES COLLAPSING 2 – 1,226 SPORTS RELATED INCIDENCES - TO DEC 2022
Every athlete is different. I’ve played with (college) and coached (high school) boys on both ends of the spectrum.
I always liked being completely empty.
But the football kids on my lacrosse team expect a full pregame meal before a game. I’m talking gut busting amounts of food 3 hours before a game.
Some will eat 3 Chick-fil-A sandwiches and want more.
Heck, during Lent on Fridays, they pile in plates of pasta with red sauce.
I personally can’t imagine doing intermittent sprints for 90 minutes with a guy full of food and acid. But they do it.
He was only resuscitated once on field per Dr press conference just now. He was not resuscitated twice. He had CPR and Defibrillator on field and was intubated in ambulance and taken to hospital.
His cardiac and neurological systems are now working normal.
Not enough on his own. Still has breathing tube to assist.
Not enough on his own. Still has breathing tube to assist.
Doctors did a great job in the press conference answering all the media’s questions. Even the stupid questions.
That’s been my experience (as a long-ago athlete) as well - but the gas doc said Hamlin’s stomach was full at the time of arrest and I was wondering how he knew.
Thank you! Splendid news!
Empty stomach from solid food is 8 hours after ingestion.
No I said he is considered full stomach. Most athletes I know eat about 3-4 hours prior to a game. None go into it fasting. The standard to be CL soldered empty empty stomach is 8 hours from solid food ingestion.
My guess is it's because some people are morons who will report damned near anything whether or not they have direct knowledge of the situation.
I see, thanks.
Update. He is communicating in writing with his family.
1st question: “Who won the game?”
Doc: “You did. You won the game of life.”
Great news 🙏
