Discussion thread using photgraphic evidence of before and after of the Ukrainina HIMARs strike used on Vocational College #19 in Bakhmut, as a Russian barracks:
Aric Toller, https://twitter.com/AricToler/status/1609955583486042113:
"I made a comparison shot on @planet showing the vocational school on December 20th and this morning. Hard to see very well -- it's 3m imagery -- but you can clearly tell it's been heavily damaged. "
At Planet.com/stories the image has a horizontal slider on it with left/right arrows. It shows a overlapping sattilte image of the college and the area around it on December 19 and January 2.

"Numerous media reports suggest that hundreds of Russian freshly mobilized soldiers billeted in the building of the Polytechnic School #19 in Russian-occupied Makiivka, Donetsk Oblast, were killed in the attack.""The building before and after the attack (via @666_mancer)"

"I received information about the defeat of the object around the hour of the night of 01/01/2023. The facility, which housed the N-th division, consisting mainly of mobilized citizens of the Russian Federation, was almost completely destroyed as a result of the detonation of the BC stored in the same building. Almost all the military equipment that stood right next to the building without the slightest sign of disguise was also destroyed. In terms of the number of victims, there are still no final figures, since many people are listed as missing (remained under the rubble). In any case, the number of dead and wounded goes to many hundreds (approximate numbers of "200s" are available, but I will not voice them)"."I was WARNED that this could happen again AT ANY TIME, since this is not the only such (extremely dense) deployment of personnel and equipment in the zone of destruction of Hymers missiles. And - yes - this is not the first such case - last year there were also quite a few of them. Although, as a rule, still with fewer victims. But our generals are untrainable in principle, although they themselves - after the summer "pogroms of headquarters" - prefer to stay away from the location of entrusted troops - outside the radius of destruction of enemy missiles."

My 2¢:
Occams Razor suggests what happened. The college was 20 kilometers from the front. Russian security in all forms, except in protecting the general staff from HIMARS, is consistently mediocre. Ukrainian front line reconaissane is done by Ukraine, drones, special ops teams, answering the phone. In this conflict there is Open Source Intelligence like never before, most of which is aiding Ukraine.
The school was closed down and Ukrainian reconaisance and intelligence picked up on lots of trucks going to and from it. It takes a lot of trucks, labor and time to fill a three story building with conscripts and its basement with munitions. Ukraine knew what was happening from what has happened since they received HIMARS, waited, and when the building was full attacked with several GMLRS salvoes.
Looking at the before and after photos, it was a three story building and totally destroyed. Ukraine uses HIMARS/GMLRS on high value logistical targets. To make it worthwhile to use enough missiles to destroy the building, it had to be full of personnel.
Igor Girkin is former KGB/GRU and was in Russian special operations in Bosnia, Chechnya, and Transnistria, before going on to Crimea and Donbas. He was a prime actor in the creation of events now unfolding. He knows more about what's happening than the pro-Russian experts in the west who for the most part place their commentary over what they read from the Russian MOD's daily briefings, TASS and RT.
Questions, comments, informed criticisms, angry wailing gnashing of teeth?
Tear Collection Kits avaiable at poster's expense.
The barracks still has good bones.
Do you have some “with circles and arrows, and paragraphs on back describing each”?

I think the first item was misidentified as Bakhmut, which last I heard was immersed in fighting, not 20 miles behind the fighting front. Also I saw some of these photos identified elsewhere as a technical School #10 in Makiivka, including the areal photo with the square building. I saw a moving view of what was identified as the ruin of the Makiivka school which seemed different to me than the photo showed here as the ruins.
Unless the 3 story school photo is several years older than the wreckage photo, the vegitation doesn’t look right. And what about the power tower and lines in the air?
The comparison pictures of the building at the ground level/eye level are ridiculous on its face.
Picture one = a tube of lipstick
Picture two = a pineapple
Let me try that again...
Picture one = a spool of green sewing thread
Picture two = a 327 Chevy engine block
It should be Hussein Obama School #19.
