Rooney gave the update on the NFL player's condition to ESPN on Wednesday and noted Hamlin remains sedated. His update comes after Rob Butler, Hamlin's agent, told ESPN on Tuesday night that Hamlin's oxygen levels had improved.
Hamlin, 24, is in the intensive care unit at the University of Cincinnati Medical Center, where he was transported after he went into cardiac arrest on the field during the first quarter of the Bills' Monday night game against the Cincinnati Bengals.
The safety collapsed following his tackle of Bengals wide receiver Tee Higgins, and CPR was administered to Hamlin before an ambulance arrived.

Damar Hamlin condition update:
Dr. Knight and Dr. Pritz on Zoom Call
Substantial improvement last 24 hours, Dr’s had significant concern in beginning. Neurological appears intact. Still critical in ICU. Significant progress still to make.
Sudden Cardiac Arrest, on field medical personnel recognized immediately, was promptly resuscitated with CPR and AED. Only one resuscitation on field.
Giving Bills medical staff great credit to recognize severity and act accordingly.
Loss of pulse on field, CPR immediately followed by AED until stable to get in ambulance.
He can follow commands and actually asked who won the game.
Great news!
He is communicating in writing due to being intubated.
He’s dead Jim. Less oxygen level j7st means he still can’t breathe on his own.
Why they had to do it at 4AM I’ll never know. then right after they left, then came the Blood Suckers, one vial from inside my elbow each morning.
I asked why they didn’t use the IV tap and they just said “Oh we can’t use that!”................
By the time I got out I looked like a heroin addict!..............
I can’t find that press conference. Is that where you’re getting this info?
The player is neurologically intact thank God. And so much for the armchair experts saying after 9 mi it’s CPR he had no chance
Nice try. He is neurologically intact praise God
Link in 139.
I’m listening on local radio
