Rooney gave the update on the NFL player's condition to ESPN on Wednesday and noted Hamlin remains sedated. His update comes after Rob Butler, Hamlin's agent, told ESPN on Tuesday night that Hamlin's oxygen levels had improved.
Hamlin, 24, is in the intensive care unit at the University of Cincinnati Medical Center, where he was transported after he went into cardiac arrest on the field during the first quarter of the Bills' Monday night game against the Cincinnati Bengals.
The safety collapsed following his tackle of Bengals wide receiver Tee Higgins, and CPR was administered to Hamlin before an ambulance arrived.

No doubt. Everyone was, even people watching on TV.
Like I said...small town Hosp.
Yeah these days the machines are slick....
I was totally impressed by the ‘X-ray machine’ they used. In another 20 years it will be the size of a cellphone like on Star Trek.
I remember when we were at Pfizer, MRI was just on the horizon, and we had worries about it. The engineer said DON’T WORRY ABOUT IT, IT’LL NEVER REPLACE A CAT SCAN.
Now we have what they call ‘Open MRI’.............
Good thing I got a pneumonia shot, I hate lying on my stomach!................
I think that is what they call “proning”, and they did this with a lot of CoVid patients in the early days. Helped them to breathe more easily, though I’m sure it wasn’t fun to be in that position for hours.
Latest update looks hopeful.
Seems to me that it would make breathing harder................But that’s just me.................
Medics train especially not to be in a panic. I find that they are usually very focused on the task at hand, even if acting quickly or urgently.
I get that idea, but it seems this prone position really does help.

He has a long way to go, but I believe our prayers are helping. Continuing.
I’ve never proned an adult....was a last ditch effort. Most would not tolerate it. Proned a ton of Preemies though...
My nephew is an orthopedic doctor and he was called in to help with proning during the early CoVid days. So I know it happens.
Most of them were morbidly obese.
Interesting that you mentioned that. The morbidly obese were often the ones he worked on with the proning. They were way too weak to do anything about it.
Didn't work out so well...and the morbidly obese had a very high rate of morbidity.
Yeah we can place central lines...an get instant results. Not like the old days....
Yes. It’s unfortunate.

They told me it’s not like the old days, the rads in this new type are miniscule..............
