Brackenridge, Pa. Police Chief Justin McIntire was shot and killed and another officer was wounded Monday, authorities said. The suspect was shot and killed by police that night, police said.
Allegheny County Police Superintendent Christopher Kearns said Monday night that police encountered a wanted suspect, identified as 28-year-old Aaron Lamont Swan, and engaged in a foot chase that lasted several hours. There were two shooting incidents several blocks apart.
McIntire was shot in the head and died at one scene, Kearns told reporters, CBS Pittsburgh reports. Another officer was then shot in the leg in the second incident. That officer was transported to a hospital and was in stable condition, Kearns said.
Pennsylvania Gov.-elect and current Attorney General Josh Shapiro tweeted, "Today's tragedy in Brackenridge is a devastating reminder of the bravery of those who put their lives on the line every day to protect us. Police Chief Justin McIntire ran towards danger to keep Pennsylvanians safe — and he made the ultimate sacrifice in service to community."

Pennsylvania has many small Police departments in which the Chief spends more time driving a patrol car than driving a desk.

Ask Bonnie and Clyde.”
Bonnie and Clyde had no choice. They were so feared they were ambushed with no chance to surrender. There is no way popo could do that today without endless lawsuits.
Done already, thank you Pittsburgh PD!
