Somehow, I don’t think God intends this sort of ‘devotion’...

Too bad for him Joe Biden cheated his way into high office. If President Trump were still in the White House, I think we would be a lot closer to World Peace.

God just might approve it was effective...but He knows that evil men aren’t swayed by such things.

So much willpower and self-discipline to accomplish something so incredibly useless. If he applied it to something worthwhile, he might actually make some small contribution toward world peace.

Like self-immolation of the Buddhist monks, I think this sort of thing is actually a ‘sin’ prompted by delusion.

Was it a sin to leave his family, desert his wife and children, destroy the body that was given to him by his god, and presume that his action could actually save the world? When he dies, it might well be his karma to come back as a fiddler crab:

Not very effective!
Maybe he should consider another way of obtaining world peace?

He starts this after marriage and children.
It’s seems similar to a mid-life crisis or a profound and chronic state of depression. I know by definition it’s not the same thing. He simply walked away from all duties and expectations of others. Que sera sera.
He cannot say he has given up all aspects of a physical exisitance. Somebody is feeding him, making sure there is proper shelter during either of the Monsoon seasons. Somebody is keeping him clean, washing his loincloths and combing his hair. Perhaps these duties are assigned as part of this Ascetic faith.
Vedic faith or not, if someone in my family decided to live and stay that way, I would weep for them, thinking that they had truly lost the minds.

He could volunteer for things, as in everything. Raise your right hand if you are interested in being a . . . (fill in the blank space.

So, on the list of ways to achieve Whirled Peas, strike a line through "Holding up one arm..."
Got it.
It was right before "Wipe out 93% of the World's population, with disease and starvation."

Joe Biden says “I was raised in a Hindu family in Delaware. I once held my hand up for five years, but finally had to go punch Cornpop in the nose. I was forced by Cornpop to lower my hand.”
