CINCINNATI -- Buffalo Bills safety Damar Hamlin was taken off the field in an ambulance after receiving treatment on the field for over 10 minutes, which resulted in the game between the Buffalo Bills and- Cincinnati Bengals being suspended until further notice Monday night.
Baseball players have died from getting hit in the chest with a pitch at the wrong time. It's about a one-in-a-million chance.

Years ago, a young high school player in my area got hit in the chest like this player did. He died pretty quickly.

Happened to a baseball player, got hit with a foul ball in the chest.
Looks like they did.
True. But baseball injury mechanism is a projectile at 90 mph at an unprotected area. This hit was the chest by the helmet, at a somewhat oblique angle, which was diffused padding designed to protect against this kind of injury.
This injury may be the result of any one of numerous causes, including Vax injury, not of which are ruled out.
