The most likely cause of neurological deficits is not a stroke but what we call anoxic encephalopathy. If deprived of oxygen long enough the brain cells die. While a stroke is localized to the area of the clotted vessel anoxic encephalopathy is more widespread
It was not an especially violent hit or collision. But it was odd and one you don’t see often (I can’t think off-hand of another I’ve seen that looked like it). The defender, Hamlin, was standing upright and the runner hit his helmet to his chest as Hamlin was bear hugging him and fell backward with the runner to the ground. The helmet’s crown was just under his chin but most of the contact appeared to be center chest.
It’s impossible to tell from watching video just how much force was taken on his sternum, and just because it didn’t appear particularly violent doesn’t mean that amount of force involved couldn’t have done some damage. We will have to wait until more detailed medical information is released.
My wife is a retired nurse and heard my groan and started CPR in five minutes. She went 10 mins before the parameds got here.
Wow, that’s a leap. I don’t think anything other than praying for this young man should be discussed right now, but you’ve taken this to another level by accusing someone of we wishing him dead to prove a point. Maybe I should pray for you instead.
I’ll accept that there could have been a lot of force, but that hit was glancing enough that I don’t think that is clearly the case. The hit was each both not head-on, not direct enough to be a stick, with a lot of sliding across the point of contact and more up into the shoulder.
We’ll have to wait and see.

Something weird is going on with sports figures. Are they doing some major drugs? Is Fentanyl-laced drugs to blame? Steroids maybe? Or is it something else?

There are some of us, like me, who are paying for getting the vaccine. I have been diagnosed with Cerebral Vein Sinus Thrombosis that occurred 48 hours after vaccination. I was 39, athletic, and an Army Aviator.
Some people do get injured and some die due to this vaccine. The devil is in the details concerning the number. If the number is significantly high, do you trust the government to admit that?

The steroids could be a big part of it.
More generally, we have tens of thousands (or hundreds of thousands?) of athletes now, doing things that would have been considered superhuman a few generations ago. Maybe there is a price to that, not unlike the shortened lifespans of most high productivity (in egg laying) hens....

the hit wasn’t hard. he wasn’t standing against the runner, rooted. he wrapped him up and went with him, twisting to put himself on top

these people are in the spotlight so we hear about them when something happens to them.
imagine how many this is happening to but we don’t hear about it.
