Ha ha, doggo herds little kids!
🐶
Just got home from riding horsie. It’s about 30 here, no wind, not bad. The sun keeps hiding today.
☺️

The arena we can use really helps. No heat, but also no wind. There were 6 riders and horses in there today. Like a little horsie party. 🐴🥳

I only got to ride when i was on vacation somewhere...Hawaiii, Virginia, Cape Cod, etc. However, I did get to ride a retired race horse in Jamaica. He was beautiful and spirited, and liked to eat coffee beans right off the trees in the mountains.

As if he needed any more caffein! LOL!

He didn’t try to unseat me, but he was VERY frisky.

I rode another horse in hawaii that was so nasty that I demanded that the trail leader change horses with me...in midstream. LOL.

Fighting “Flashy” Things

Bible in a Year:

Start children off on the way they should go, and even when they are old they will not turn from it.

Proverbs 22:6 In the 1960s-era TV series The Andy Griffith Show, a man tells Andy he should let his son Opie decide how he wants to live. Andy disagrees: “You can’t let a young’un decide for himself. He’ll grab at the first flashy thing with shiny ribbons on it. Then, when he finds out there’s a hook in it, it’s too late. Wrong ideas come packaged with so much glitter that it’s hard to convince them that other things might be better in the long run.” He concludes that it’s important for parents to model right behavior and help “keep temptation away.”

Andy’s words are related to the wisdom found in Proverbs: “Start children off on the way they should go, and even when they are old they will not turn from it” (22:6). Although many may read these words as a promise, they're really a guide. All of us are called to make our own decision to believe in Jesus. But we can help lay a biblical foundation through our love for God and Scripture. And we can pray that as the little ones under our care mature, they choose to receive Christ as Savior and walk in His ways and not “in the paths of the wicked” (v. 5).

Our own victory over “flashy things” through the Holy Spirit’s enabling is also powerful testimony. Jesus’ Spirit helps us to withstand temptation and molds our lives into examples worth imitating.

Ha! Great photo, LTOS!

We are getting light snow today. Little grainy flakes. Not very cold, some is melting as it falls.

Waiting for spring....my tiny greenhouse is sitting out there ready for seedlings.

Last year I started it up (heating) in April. This year, sooner. Can’t wait that long. Too many seeds to sow.

I start some in the house in a Park Seed BioDome, around February first and keep them in the house where the heat is already on. Early pansies are what I like to seed first. Love their cute little faces.

Have a good day, FRiends

🌸🌼🌺

That reminds me...I need to start nagging my hubby for planting some flower seeds so we can have some cheer in our gardens. He already has a small heater in his tiny greenhouse, and the kitties are loving it. LOL!

I’ve enjoyed growing zinnias for the last few years.
I tried the tall, large-flowered zinnias, and was amazed.
Fireball marigolds are my favorite marigold. A very neat red color.
I was unable to stop buying seeds this winter, and have way too many. 😅
Trying Sweet Peas and Calendulas for the first time.
🙃

Love That Forgives

Bible in a Year:

Bear with each other and forgive one another.

Colossians 3:13

Eighty years of marriage! My husband’s great-uncle Pete and great-aunt Ruth celebrated this remarkable milestone on May 31, 2021. After a chance meeting in 1941 when Ruth was still in high school, the young couple were so eager to get married that they eloped the day after Ruth graduated. Pete and Ruth believe God brought them together and has guided them all these years.

Reflecting on eight decades of marriage, Pete and Ruth both agree that one key to sustaining their relationship has been the decision to choose forgiveness. Anyone in a healthy relationship understands that we all regularly need forgiveness for the ways we hurt each other, whether through an unkind word, a broken promise, or a forgotten task.

In a section of Scripture written to help believers in Jesus live together in unity, Paul refers to the essential role forgiveness plays. After urging his readers to choose “compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience” (Colossians 3:12), Paul adds the encouragement to “forgive one another if any of you has a grievance” (v. 13). Most importantly, all their interactions with each were to be guided by love (v. 14).

Relationships that model the characteristics outlined by Paul are a blessing. May God help all of us work to cultivate healthy relationships characterized by love and forgiveness.

Happy Thankful Thursday!

We got a little snow, just enough to need shoveling. Not bad.

The birds are busy at their feeders today.

Hope you are having a great day.

😊 🐶
