Crazy flooding in San Francisco CA! Storm with a record rainfall in one day!

San Francisco California: San Francisco sees record rain as flooding shuts down highway One of the wettest days on record in San Francisco occurred as a winter storm brought flooding and significant snowfall to California. The National Weather Service for the San Francisco Bay Area reported that more than 5 inches of rain fell in downtown San Francisco on Saturday, breaking the previous day record. The organization said that the final day of the year is "making a run for wettest calendar day ever." According to the bureau, 5.45 inches of rain had been recorded in downtown San Francisco as of 5 p.m. local time, making it the second-wettest day in the city since records first began in 1849. On November 5, 1994, the current local record of 5.54 inches was established. The National Weather Service remarked, noting that the city was just nine hundredths of an inch short of breaking the wet day local record. Widespread flooding has been reported in the San Francisco region amid the record-breaking rainfall.

All that poop washed into the sea...

Good thing the west is getting rain, though.

God took it upon Himself to clean the human waste from the streets. Too bad it won’t keep up for 39 more days

CA should have been building many reservoirs to capture precious water instead of blowing money on trains to nowhere and climate crap rules and enforcement..

Half of San Fran's December rain fell yesterday!

Lots more to come this week with more big storms moving in off the Pacific. Reminds me of the 1983 deluge.

Accuweather--> The system from Monday to Tuesday will precede a larger and more disruptive storm later in the week.

A much more potent storm will be waiting in the wings over the Pacific and that system is poised to overspread Northern California late Tuesday night and Wednesday. While this storm may have a less-intense firehose effect from the ocean, compared to Saturday's storm, it will still unload heavy rain and result in flooding and mudslides.

"The storm is likely to gain strength and slow down as it approaches California at midweek," AccuWeather Meteorologist Joe Bauer said. A narrow ribbon of tropical moisture will extend from near Hawaii to parts of California for a time.

As the storm stalls, it will pump large amounts of moisture over much of California for an extended period from Wednesday night to Thursday night.

"The slow-moving nature of the storm and its moisture will lead to multiple hours of moderate to heavy rain at low and intermediate elevations of California," AccuWeather Senior Meteorologist Joe Lundberg said.

A general 2-4 inches of rain will fall from the storm in San Francisco, as well as coastal areas and the west-facing mountains farther to the north and farther south through Big Sur and perhaps to Santa Barbara, California, according to AccuWeather's team of meteorologists. Locally higher amounts of 6 to perhaps 8 inches may fall in the rainiest locations.

Reservoirs are filling up!

Yep. Population doubled from 10 million to 20, then double again to 40 million. Dam and reservoir construction was stopped. The last big one was New Melones Dam and Lake in 1979. Yes, 44 years ago, when the state had 23 million people. It almost doubled since then with no new major reservoirs.

Liberals think water comes from the same fairy that provides electricity.

Everyone at the low end of the streets in SF gets contaminated first with all kinds of nasty bile...Like the cement rivers in LA, it all drains to the coast where after big rains they have to shut down the beaches because of the toxic ooze. Surfs up!

The serene days in North America before the satanic beings from Europe arrived; natives peacefully interacting and a benign climate. Extreme temperature swings nonexistent, winds always calm, no forest fires..I think the lion lay down with the deer too

Looks like the drought is over. Too bad they are shutting down the hydro electric cams. The only significant green energy that exists.
