The disastrous performance of Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez's climate change documentary at the box office over the weekend reminded her critics of one thing: She doesn't do her actual job in Congress.
AOC enjoys all the perks of her job. She attends flashy galas, is on magazine covers, has done multiple friendly interviews and now has helped produce a film, "To the End," co-host Greg Gutfeld pointed out Tuesday on "The Five."
But Ocasio-Cortez, D-N.Y., accomplishes nothing in Congress, and Gutfeld said it's "no surprise" her film flopped, generating only $80 per theater.
"Who would go see a movie that's the opposite of entertaining? There's nothing entertaining about that. … But it does show you how great it is to be a progressive in a liberal, biased culture," he said. "She really doesn't do her job, right? She makes movies, she goes to galas. She sits for glossy, butt-kissing interviews in GQ and other women's mags."
Co-host Jesse Watters remarked Ocasio-Cortez is seen hiking in the film, pointing out he has never seen her engage as much with the outdoors in real life and adding that her popularity appears to be tied more to politics as opposed to "real life" given her film's paltry revenue.
"Would I go to it? No. Have I seen it? No. Will I talk about it? Yes," he said.
"This is what politicians often get confused about: Just because you're popular in politics doesn't mean you're popular anywhere else. In fact, usually people that can't do anything anywhere else go into politics to succeed. And she found out that the hard way."
Watters said the hiking scenes gives some "fraudulen[ce]" to the film, quipping that AOC grew up in Westchester and represents the outer boroughs of Queens and the Bronx.

From the Washington Times -
Despite the film’s poor showing, the film is generating Oscar buzz. The documentary was picked up by the Sundance Film Festival, fueling predictions that Ms. Ocasio-Cortez will make an appearance on the red carpet at the 2023 Academy Awards.
Bzzzzzzz...
Any wonder why viewership for the oscars continues to dwindle??
The generated revenue of $80 per theater? So just in round numbers if each ticket cost $10 only eight people went to see her movie?
My girlfriend Greta insisted that I take her to this movie. We were the only ones in the theatre. At least we got to neck a little without worrying about distracting others. But she would slap me away once in a while as she wanted to pay more attention to the movie. Eventually though, even she got bored with the movie and started leaning into me a little more towards the end.
Oscar PLUS the Nobel Prize.
Beg to differ.
Donors give her millions of dollars to play the underprivelaged Latina card. And she whines quite well. Look at Stacy Abrahms (if you can stomach it). Same game. They both are making millions from pleading their minority status.
So, why try to do anything?
Well, since the Oscar’s are all about skin pigment over merit these days, they might give her one.
The only thing AOC deserves is to be voted out and given a job cleaning restaurants at a fast food restaurant.
Avg ticket is $14 now, but this was big city ones only, likely $20/avg
Food revenue isn’t counted
Betcha she shortchange customers when she was a bartender.
She meets the classic definition of “bimbo”.
You have to be kidding me, they actually made a movie of this twit as if she’s some kind of atmospheric physicist? She’s a FRAUD! She’s doesn’t have the SLIGHTEST qualification!
How about making a documentary about REAL climate scientists like Richard Lindzen or Roy Spencer? Oh that’s right, they don’t buy into the scam so they get ignored while two children AOC and Greta get propped up as experts. Absolutely pathetic.
Of course they will throw awards at it, the left has totally commandeered awards today from the Nobel prize to Oscars, they use these awards solely to further their Marxist bullcrap.
LMAO!
Certainly worthy of a Nobel Prize or a Time Thing of the Year.
I'm not saying she's good, or that I'm a fan, but I am saying she is getting more done than most Reps.
It’s not like I ever paid attention to the Oscars, but increasingly over my entire life most of Hollywood has nothing in common with me. Oscars never sat right with me. It’s a bunch of people who celebrate themselves and it’s so much about politics.
