The Biden administration's new policy to permit migrants that would otherwise be expelled allows for Haitians and Cubans to receive an array of public benefits, according to the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS).
Haitian and Cuban migrants paroled into the U.S. can receive Medicaid, food stamps and cash benefits, according to HHS’ Office of Refugee Resettlement (ORR). The new program uses parole authority to allow 30,000 Venezuelans, Nicaraguans, Cubans and Haitians to enter the U.S. on a monthly basis if they have a sponsor.
Migrants of the aforementioned nationalities would otherwise be expelled under Title 42, the Trump-era order used to quickly expel certain migrants who cross into the U.S. illegally. The Biden administration continues to push for Title 42’s end, but Republican states have sued and the courts have been left to make a decision on the order's fate.

I’ve been raising chickens for 15 years, barred rocks. They are so predictable in laying I could set my watch by them. I raise a new group of hens every other year to replace the older ladies who don’t lay as much.
Here’s a little report from my neck of the woods. It was around Sept/Oct mine quit laying all except 2 chickens. We normally get 12 eggs/day and during a molt/wintertime (Nov /Dec) it usually drops to 6, but picks back up in Jan. With additional coop light hours, by now I should be back to dozen/day.
I have been using the same brands of feed from TSC. I have two chickens that continued to lay consistently and I marked them last week with blukote. They are two of my older hens too. Those hens are running to the billy goat area and eat out of the goat trough. My chickens are free range too but they definitely need supplemented in the winter.
I started giving all of them goat feed, but last week, I got a bag of feed that is locally made and have been feeding it. I have gone from 2 eggs/day to 5 in one week. It will be interesting to see what happens from here.
I for sure think something is going on, but I have been suspicious with all the processing plants, bird flu, meat facilities, etc for over a year. Couple that with Gates and his BIOMILQ and chicken-less egg investments and who knows what all else…
I have suspicions about my garden as well, something is very off all around. Several other gardeners around here have said the same. IDK.
Edited to add - I don’t cull my old hens, we still keep them around they just don’t produce much anymore 🙂
